"Time for a Reckoning."

Name: Eliot Freeman

Faction: N/A, joins a new one whenever he gets bored

Height: 6'6

Weight: 150 pounds

Occupation: Adventurer. Will accept any sort of job for the right price, ranging from bounty hunter, archeologist, artificer, explorer, and exterminator.

Education: Never formally educated, but has taught himself a great deal in a wide variety of fields, most pertaining in some way to his adventurous lifestyle, including but not limited to: Survival, criminal psychology, general psychology, medical practice, forensics, physics, mechanical engineering, and biology. Space-travel requires advanced knowledge on alien xeno-cultural knowledge and technology.

Origin: Eliot Freeman is the result of 75 years of government assisted extraterrestrial genetic engineering. By selecting and enhancing the most powerful genes, young Eliot was granted superhuman levels of reaction time and physical ability. When one Eliot would die, his clone would live on with his memories, as well as artificial ones supplanted by his alien captors that mimicked normal life on Earth. After deciding that he would not be a pawn of the alien government, he escaped from the facility in Earth's orbit, stealing a starship and taking off into the galaxy. Eliot's cognitive functions continued to increase, enabling him to invent amazing gear and learn many fighting styles in relatively little time. However, with this steady increase in brain function also came a withdrawal from galactic society. Viewing the majority of life-forms with disdain and impatience, he nonetheless aims to avenge wrongs wherever he may find them, mostly as a way of preventing boredom. He constantly seeks greater challenges as a way of keeping ahead of his own constantly growing thinking ability.

Superhuman Abilities: In short, Freeman's brain has been genetically engineered to be far more advanced than that of an average person. He is able to take in, process, and respond to information at superhuman rates of speed. This allows him to perform seemingly impossible tasks for a regular human, including dodging bullets, catching arrows shot at him, and solving complex equations in mere seconds. He can use these enhanced cognitive functions in conjunction with his superior muscles to move at superhuman speeds for a short duration when necessary.

Capabilities: Due to genetic engineering, intense training, and enhanced physicals, Freeman is able to "view the world in slow motion". This enables him to analyze opponents and make choices at a nearly superhuman rate of speed. He is able to accurately predict the outcomes of nearly any scenario based on the information available to him, and he is able to react to most conventional attacks, such as hand to hand combat and gunshots, with ease.

Freeman has trained himself in a grand variety of combat styles, including hand to hand, boxing, judo, fencing, gunplay, and even fighting techniques not known to Earth. He has also invented his own deadly fighting style that makes use of his ability to predict enemy attacks.

Freeman is an expert in the use of most weapons. He is an expert marksman in the use of guns or a bow. He has also trained himself in the use of more exotic weapons, such as throwing knives, and alien technology, which he has stored on his ship. Should he need to learn a new combat style, he is typically able to within a day at most.

Freeman had trained himself in the art of stealth and is able to move about undetected by regular means should he choose.

Freeman is able to impersonate others quite well. He can mimic voices, accents, and stances, as well as throw his voice.

As a result of his enhanced mind functions, Freeman is highly resistant to conventional telepathy.

Weaknesses: Freeman's enhanced brain also comes with drawbacks. Often being described as "too smart for his own good", he has a difficult time working with others due to his impatience and arrogance. He will typically refuse to listen to orders if he doesn't see the logic in them, and he will usually try to take over a group operation as the new leader if he feels the old one is not competent enough.

Paraphernalia: Freeman always changes his equipment based on the requirements of his next mission. His main weapon is a lightweight, yet exceedingly durable, suit of armor. It carries all of his weaponry and has demonstrated extreme resistance to conventional attack, including but not limited to slashing, piercing, tearing, extreme temperatures, blaster bolts, and high pressures. A jetpack is built into the suit, letting Freeman take flight whenever he may please. The power cells will eventually recharge themselves, but it can take a while, so he usually keeps spares within his ship, Greased Lightning. In addition to the common blasters and "slug" weapons that shoot regular bullets, he has installed the following in his suit, or he carries them with him on missions:

A mask that combines a highly advanced HUD, night/thermal vision goggles, a sonic filter for loud noises or listening in on a conversation, a "sonic map" for graphing the interior layout of a building, and an oxygen supply that can provide him with fresh air for up to two standard hours. All technical functions of his suit and his ship are operated through his HUD.

A flame projector that can be installed in either gauntlet.

A disintegrator, capable of breaking down the molecules of its target.

A pressurized dart launcher that can be installed in either gauntlet.

A stealth function that blends the entire suit in to the environment, making him difficult to see.

A retractable grapple claw for restraining enemies or grappling from place to place. It can also be used as a zip line, or for grabbing things that are far away.

A highly advanced hacking device that can be operated from his HUD.

A sonic emitter that can either fill the area with white noise, making him more difficult to hear, or that can emit a high decibel pitch that will non-lethally incapacitate most foes.

A magnetic lock breaker.

An EMP projector that can deactivate machinery and is extra potent against mechanical beings such as droids.

All gear and technology is completely water-proof and highly resistant to the rigors of interstellar travel.

A modified light freighter belonging to Freeman, and named affectionately after one of Eliot's favorite works of fiction, it's technology and capabilities have all been expanded far beyond their original functions. With a FTL Drive (Faster-than-light drive) enhanced personally by Freeman, the ship can exceed speeds beyond 186,000 mi/sec, warping space around it and sending it into the stars. With this drive Freeman has the capability to cross entire sectors of space in little under an hour. The ship has also been heavily fortified as well, with both dedicated armor platforms and high-class turbolaser turrets lining the structure. An EMP dish can disable enemy ships while leaving them unharmed, allowing him to board the enemy vessel and take it's crew alive. No question about it: Greased Lightning can hold itself well in a dogfight. Scanners can identify other vessels passing through the sector, and track them if need be. A medbay keeps Freeman feeling well, and, given time, can heal him from most injuries. Rumor has it that he is also working on an experimental cloaking device...

The Greased Lightning's Crew: Freeman enlisted the help of two automatons to aid him in running his ship named Lewis and Clark. Lewis is a combat-oriented security droid that has also been heavily modified by Freeman. Carrying an impressive arsenal, Lewis can make short work of any intruders or pirates that intend to vandalize Greased Lightning. Clark, on the other hand, is a support drone with an unstable personality core installed. Operating the more advanced functions of Greased Lightning, as well as communicating with its AI, Clark helps fly the ship whenever Eliot is busy, as well as being able to perform diagnostic routines and medical functions.
