.... vs. Steve! Wait, where are the Powerpuff Girls?

    OOOOOO, dinner!
    OOOOOO, dinner!

The Powerpuff Girls are missing and Steve is about to eat the Mayor! Join The P.P.G. on an adventure to save the city of Townsville against evil monsters! Written and illustrated by Derek Charm!

    The Good

"The city of Townsville!" Those four words always get me excited about watching, and now reading, about the Powerpuff Girls. The P.P.G. was one of Genndy Tartakovsky's writing, supervising producing, and directing gigs before he went on to do Samurai Jack. So when I think of crazy well thought out fights in Samurai Jack, I can see that some of it came from his term with Powerpuff Girls. This series does a great job at capturing that same feel you would get from watching an episode!

    How you feel reading this.

Writer and illustrator, Derek Charm, does an unbelievable job with this issue! Every aspect of Powerpuff Girls that you'd find in the show, is in this issue/series! It has the opening sequence, the trouble, and then the the girls coming to kick villain butt! What more could you want? The story of fighting Steve the Monster, the girls being discourage at doing their jobs properly, and the Professor giving the girls a pep talk is everything I could find in the show. Derek is a brilliant writer and an equally good artist as it looks exactly like the animation style found in the series, just in comic book form! So all of these aspects allow Derek Charm to pull off a flawless issue with an enjoyable secondary cast of villains, a well thought out fight sequences, and a meaningful nostalgia moment between the Professor and the girls.

    The Bad

    No complaints.

    The Verdict

    The end!
    The end!

5 out of 5. If you've never watched an episode of this series, or even if you have, I suggest going back to nostalgia land and YouTube "The Powerpuff Girls" you'll find some episodes I'm sure.
