Well, it appears Chapter 6 was just a bump in the road as this issue reaches the acclaim that the first 5 chapters had. Continuing the trend of focusing on the main story, while acknowledging that this is the New Mutants book, this seems like the true beginning of the Second Act. Zeb Wells writes a terrific script here, highlighting all the essential characters, while not losing either the main story or the team that's supposed to be featured.
The art has a few panels where it falls, but overall the art is well above average.
With all the different groups heading out and doing their thing, the story doesn't lose focus when looking at them, which is always a good thing.
Hope's character continues to be a strong aspect of this series, in this issue she really shines.
