He is a legacy character based on the original Iron Monger created by Denny O'Neil and Mark Bright.Character EvolutionGregory Smoot is the 3rd person to assume the Iron Monger identity. His predecessors were Obadiah Stane and Yiorgos Krallis. Smoot was succeeded as Iron Monger by Cristoph Pfeifer, although the next person to wear the armor was a gangster called Slagmire who never adopted the name "Iron Monger".
