    Dan Abnett returns to the Guardians of the Galaxy except this time, it's the original team featuring Vance Astro aka Major Victory, Charlie-27, Martinex, Starhawk, Yondu, and the newcomer Geena Drake, plus Rael Rider, the last remaining Nova in the 31st century. This series spins right out of the story from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 issue 14.

    The series ended with issue 8 due to the events of Secret Wars and was replaced with the "Korvac Saga" mini-series by the same writer. After Secret Wars, the original Guardians of the Galaxy return once more in the new ongoing Guardians of Infinity series.
