Okay so this is my first attempt at doing this. And hopefully it will become an annual thing. Most of the movies on this list I have not seen at all or for a very long time, but I did put a few in I have seen to mix things up a bit.

Week One

1st - The Town That Dreaded Sundown

2nd - Phantasm 2

3rd - Phantasm 3

4th - Motel Hell

5th - Curse of Chucky

6th - Diary of The Dead

7th - Dracula 1958

Week Two

8th - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974

9th - John Carpenters The Fog

10th - Wishmaster

11th - The Blob 1988

12 - The Stangers

13 - Cannibal Holocaust

14 - In The Mouth of Madness

Week 3

15th - Army of Darkness

16th - Night of The Demons (1988)

17th - Creepshow

18th - My Bloody Valentine (2009)

19th - Shivers

20th - Jacobs Ladder

21st - The Prowler

Week 4

22nd - Curse of Frankenstein

23rd - Maniac Cop 3

24th - Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978)

25th - Silver Bullet

26th - Fright Night (1985)

27th - Hellraiser IV: Bloodline

28th Tremors

Week 5 (Or the last three days)

29th - A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)

30th - Friday the 13th (1980)

31st - Halloween

So I hope I manage to stick to this schedule. The reason I have sorted them out into weeks is because I plan to do a weekly wrap up sort of thing, when I just give a summary of my thoughts of each of the films. And keeping it in weekly chunks helps organize that. That is the plan anyway.

Is anyone else doing this? If you are Id love to see your lists, either post em here or make your own thread.

It is (its not my idea) but I had to give it a try since when I heard about it I really liked it. Thanks You rock too :)

Cool. Do you also plan on doing reviews of any of those movies?

Thanks. Well I plan on doing a wrap up each and give a more brief summary of my thoughts on each film.

@deadite said:

I'm excited to see those weekly wrap-up.

Sure.

Pet Cemetery (saw it ages ago, when I was younger)

Diary of The Dead might have seen this too, but I can't really remember it... I don't think I liked it but still. :)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (should be obvious this one since I have reviewed it) This is the third time watching it this year I think.

Cannibal Holocaust

Army of Darkness

Creepshow

Hellraiser IV Bloodline

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Friday the 13th

Halloween

Alot on this list I have been intending to watch for some time, but have not got round to it. So I thought this a good time to solve that :)

I will be watching these with someone else too so some of the they have not seen.

@mrdecepticonleader: Cool man, I look forward to your wrap-ups. I've seen all of those films, and you are in for a fun month. If I m ay add a suggestion; Peter Jackson's, Dead Alive (1989), is as crazy as they come. Not scary, just crazy. You may want to add that. Not necessarily in lieu of anything, just in addition to your list. You know, two movies in one night. :P

No Caption Provided

*edit* Also, Cockneys Vs Zombies (2012) is hilarious. Could be called Lock Stock and Two Smoking Zombies.

@mrdecepticonleader: You will have to let me know what you think. And, you will also see a lot of the cinematography techniques Peter Jackson uses in LOTR and The Hobbit. Just not as refined, obviously. But, I promise the movie will not dissapoint. :)

Another suggestion…if you haven’t seen it. Dark Prince: The True Story of Dracula (2000). Not necessarily for this, but just for any time. It is a great movie.

@chaos_prime: Ah yes, the second installment to John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy. (The Thing, Prince of Darknes and In the Mouth of Madness) All great films, especially The Thing!!!

@mrdecepticonleader: With this thread, you've literally become my favorite Viner. Im a huge, i mean enormous, movie and book fan. Can't wait for the wrap-ups.

I'm actually inspired, now, to start this idea where I do 1 Movie review and 1 Book review every other week. What do you think?

Oh wow thanks. I don't know what to say to that :)

Thanks. I actually can't wait to watch some of the movies on this list either.

That sounds great. Go for it! We need more horror/movie reviews on this site.

@mrdecepticonleader: just out of curiosity, what part of the world are you from? We are in very different time zones, obviously...or very different sleep schedules.

I'm from Northern California. Sacramento.

oh, and I am watching Dead Alive again. Just started it. It is going to be my first review for Sunday. PM me when you watch it. I gotta know what a fellow movie fanatic thinks about it. The first 30 minutes-ish are wonderfully cheesy and the rest becimes dusgusting/gor filled excitement/hilarity.

@mrdecepticonleader: Well, that makes sense. First off, let me say...screw you, for living where my heritage lies. That's where I want to be. My mom was born in Dublin. My dad in Venice(Im 1st generation US). Crazily enough they met at Woodstock. But, i love overcast weather, bangers and mash with black pudding and roasted tomatoes, English Premiere (West Ham), BBC News (the last real journalism), tea (Tipss or Tetley) and the idea of police that can't shoot you. Jerk. Lol.

But, cool, no wonder why i like your POV. I may not be from UK, but that's where my girl and i dream of living.

Oh, and don't confuse it with an Australian film...A band of angry New Zealanders may come and burn your house down.

@nerdork: I saw Dead Alive the other day.

And I thought it was a great film. It was campy and over the top. Their were some hilarious scenes, "I kick ass in the name of the Lord" ha ha. It had a simple but serviceable plot which was good. The main character was easy to root for. The gore was just fantastic and managed to be both over the top and cartoony but then at times just downright nasty. And it was refreshing to see no CGI, no CGI blood or anything of that sort. The fact they were zombies only added to the like factor of this film. I like all kinds of horror and the horror comedy category is one of my favorites, particularly the likes Evil Dead 2, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Re Animator, Shaun of The Dead. And this film manages to squirm its way into that category as well. I have a fair amount of appreciation and enjoyment for this film.

Thank you for recommending me it. It is a great horror comedy.

No one mention John Carpenters Thing?! Im shocked!

Well I made this thread for my 31 Day Horror marathon and I have seen The Thing many times, it is a great film, but I decided to leave it off the list.

I made a thread to specifically discuss horror and all things related to it here: http://www.stage.comicvine.com/forums/off-topic-5/the-offical-thread-of-horror-1454457/

I haven't seen Phantasm in ages... The Tall Man !

@mrdecepticonleader: That's great. I'm just happy to give another movie fan a little slice of horror comedy awesomeness. Peter Jackson did a wonderful job on that film. Its hard to find films like that. If you know of any secret teasures, please let me know. I thought you were going to enjoy Dead Alive...based on the way you've spoken about The Thing, and other movies in the past.

Yeah. I watched Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Lesley Vernon, a couple of weeks and that was pretty good. It wasn't the same kind of goofy comedy but it was funny at times. Dead Snow is another one I really enjoyed. That was more in line with Horror comedy that I like.

I mean I defended Texas Chainsaw Massacre two. I don't get how some people can like 3 more than 2. Three was just boring. :)
