Anyway this thread, we shall be looking at LT Janek Sunber of the Galactic Empire, AKA: Tank, Luke's childhood friend!

Army Troopers make up a vast number of the Empire's planet bound fighting forces. These soldiers are trained to only fight, and they do it very well. They are taught all manner of hand to hand combat techniques, blaster pistol, grenade and heavy weapons training are just some of the areas these soldiers are expected to excel in.

Originally Sunber wanted to be a pilot, but didn't make the cut, so he went infantry into the Imperial Army. Army Troopers are expected to excel in H2H, blaster, grenade and heavy weapons training, so Sunber can be rather deadly with just about anything.
One of the several planets in the Caridan system, it was a large high gravity world with a wide variety of terrain. It was the site of the Empire's most important training center.

Where Sunber went to for training, Carida has a number of different terrains, ranging from desert, tundra, jungle, etc. So he would be able to adapt into pretty much any planet environment type. Considering he spent a year there, he would also more than likely be stronger than the average fit man.
Comic Scans
Just showing of Sunber's tactical skill, analysis of the terrain, planning and spotting traps.
He impresses his commander, General Ziering with his quick thinking and tactics. He is promoted to captain and then commander(although the promotions never stick because none of the officers under him vouched that he was promoted) and Ziering says that he is a natural and not even on his best day, could he outperform him.
Shows skill in using heavy canon emplacements aboard a Juggernaut, he tanks being wounded by a spear and impresses the Amanin for fighting as long as they did. The Amanin having outnumbered the Imperial forces and having blasters of their own while the Imperials were low on supplies and manpower.
First 2 scans are him withstanding being blasted by a thermal detonator, being sent down a cliff and then taking out a Rebel in H2H combat.
Last scan is him taking down a Rebel and donning on his uniform.
Here he defeats Luke Skywalker in H2H.
