Xavier's Mansion, New York
Sean and Kitty were sitting huddled together on the couch, watch America's next top model, it had become a ritual of sorts, Kitty loved the show and Sean didn't mind, one, because it made Kitty happy, and two, because the girls on the show were extremely attractive. Though Sean only had one female on his mind. It seems ages now since they were in the group of misfits together with the others, he wished more of them had decided to accept Xavier's offer, of course some never even got to hear it with the pace of which they shot out of there. It was such a contrast he thought, less than a year ago he had been sitting on cold hard concrete with a can of beans and a sleeping bag, and now he was one of the X-Men, or at least he would be one day, it was like being back in Ireland again. Don't think of home he thought, don't think of Tom. He brushed his blazing red locks from his face, he always had a slight bedraggled look, even before his days on the street, his eyes looked over kitty as she lay on him, blankets keeping them warm. He wished to lean down and kiss her, alas he could not, it seemed he was stuck in the 'friend zone'. Then there names sounded over the radio, Kitty awoke, dazed and confused.
"Sean Cassidy and Kaitlyn Pryde, to the Operations room, please... Sean Cassidy and Kaitlyn Pryde, to the operations room, please." her voice was monotone as always. They looked at each other quietly, either one not quite sure what to say, what could this be about. They both stood in unison, the blanket falling to the floor, In the background Elixir and Darwin had stopped their game of chess and were looking at them as though unsure of what they were going to do next. Elixir pictured the two romantically running off together laughing their merry cheeks off after having shaved off all of Professor Xavier's hair, whilst Darwin imagined them heading to the operations room, getting knocked for six by Magneto and then being kicked out of the Institute for reasons unbeknownst to him. "Well..." said Kitty in her sweet gentle tone, "should we head down?". Sean looked concerned "uhm, yeah... sure" he finished with an uncertain smile. Sean had an irrational fear that one day Professor Xavier and Professor Dietrich would call him in and say, "sorry we've realised our mistake, you are not good enough to be an X-man, please leave", however he could not quite work out why Kitty was there, maybe Xavier wished to humiliate him further and kick him out in front of the girl he fancies.
They passed Jubilee, who had a big grin and was saying some congratulations for being picked, then they saw Bobby who gave them an unnerving wink and wished them good luck. Sean was now wondering if this had to do with the training earlier in the day, but he didn't imagine that they would get any results back this quick. It was due to training in the danger that Kitty was so tired and had been sleeping on Sean rather than watching one of her favourite pass time shows. The two teens were outside the heavy metal door, which stood out in contrast to the wooden paneled corridor, that lead into the Operations room. They both stood in tracksuit bottoms, sweatshirt pullovers and thick socks, boy did the winter months get cold. It was not an unusual site to see Kitty and Sean looking so familiar, partially because Kitty found it cute, and partially because Sean did not know how to shop for clothes and so Kitty would do it for him. They were a couple, just without doing the intimate things couples do. Kitty's hair rolled over her shoulders like a chocolate waterfall, she looked to Sean with a smile, and reached down to hold his hand. The doors slid open, neither of them had seen the inside of this place before, and they stepped in. It was rather dark and grey, only lit up by bright green holographic boards and flashing, red, blue and orange buttons. It looked like an MI6 base from a James Bond scene. Around a table, coming up from the floor, in the center of the room were situated three men, Erik Hadrian von Dietrich, Henry Leonard "Hank" McCoy and Alexander Winston "Alex" Xavier. Magneto looked over, silver drapes covering half of his face, In the corner were two new fresh X-Men outfits, "Suit up."
