Wolverine: Future X, Part 5- Execution

Year- 2054 A.D.

Location- Mutant Town, New York.

BRAKA! BRAKA! BRAKAAA!

The sounds of an automatic gun came somewhere from the underground tunnels. Remy and I went down to see what was happenin' down there. The old sewers smelled very bad that I couldn't get my nose off from it. Remy charged the card and threw on the dead water. The light sparked in flashes, which showed the entrance through the dark hallways. It may look like there were no mutants in the upper levels of Mutant Town. But there were news of one mutant who could live in the sewers all this time.

"AHHHHH! HELP ME! PLEASE HELP!"

I smelled the person who was screamin' far way from the dark corners of the tunnel. It sounded like Caliban's voice, only a bit. I could be wrong but it seems to me that someone needed help. Remy looked over the sewers to see if any sound is comin' from them. But I can tell the sounds were comin' from that dark tunnel. We went through the tunnel slowly, tryin' not to bump into each other since there wasn't any light.

There used to be tons of Morlocks livin' in this sewers under Mutant Town. Humans knew that these freaks would live down here. Because they felt it was comfortable and tried to stay away from trouble.

BRAAKAA! BRAAAKAAA! BRAKA!

The gun sounds still rang through my ears. We came out of the dark tunnel and into the slight light, from the top of the see-through cage. The dead water contained pieces of Morlock flesh. Remy looks disgusted when he saw the dead bodies, floatin' through the bad water.

"AHHHH! SOMEBODY! HELP ME!"

It did sounded like Caliban. I'm pretty sure about it. But I wonder who's attackin' him. Caliban was one of the last Morlocks livin' in the sewers. It was said that he hid himself from the world durin' the Sentinel battles and the human rights raid. Callisto used to say that Caliban doesn't like the outside world. That was Caliban's own fear. But this time his fear is different when someone's tryin' to torture him.

"HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!"

That sound is familiar. Where I have heard that sound before? I looked at Remy and he shrugged as if he didn't know who the person was. It can't be Calvin Rankin for sure. There has to be a reason why he came here. Maybe, he likes livin' inside small, dark places where nobody could disturb him. Who knows.

"Logan," the Cajun mutant said. "Is it Calvin?"

I sniffed through another dark tunnel. I said, "Nah. It ain't him."

"Then..." Remy paused as he looked at the other dark tunnel. "Who is it?"

"Well, bub. We'll have to find out." We continued walkin' through the other dark tunnel. Remy charged his card for a few minutes so that we could see where we are goin' here. Then he threw the charged card on the bad water.

"COME OUT! COME OUT! WHERE EVER YOU ARE! HA! HA! HA! HA!"

D@mn it! Who is it? Is it him? I smelled the person right now for a while. But it ain't him. Or is it? I looked at Remy and said, "Remy, we have to hurry and help Caliban."

We ran through the dark tunnels. We turned right from the other side of the tunnel. It took like ages to get where we wanted to go and find Caliban. Who knows how long we have to get there.

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

The gun sound kept comin' from the other side of the tunnel. I hope we weren't too late. If Caliban is dead, there's no way we can find Calvin Rankin. Maybe, it's him. The one who killed the X-Men back in the mansion. Maybe...

Then we finally arrived to the spot we needed to be. There was slight blood in the dead water. Caliban was found injured by his arm. He must've ran and came here. I asked him, "Caliban...Are you alright? What happened?"

Caliban looked at me and said, "Lo...Logan. It's you. Please...help me. He's...mad. He wants to...kill me."

"Don't worry, pal," I said. "We'll get you somewhere safe and sound." Caliban looked at Remy. Remy smiled at him, almost givin' his handshake. "The name's Remy. People call me "Gambit." Nice to meet you."

Caliban didn't reply to his charmin' comment. He was scared to death. He stared at his bleedin' arm. I looked at him and said, "Caliban, Listen to me. We have to get outta here. There ain't much time."

"No...Logan," Caliban said. "I can't go outside."

"You have to come with us," I said. "If you don't, that crazy motherf*cker will kill ya right here and right now." Whoever the f*ck he is.

Then a bomb came out of nowhere in the dead water. I looked at it and shouted, "F*CK! IT'S A BOMB!" We moved immediately away from the bomb and splashed on the water. The bomb exploded the waves as they came splashin' over us. The walls of the sewers broke apart. The piles of rocks dropped on the water. I got up from the dead water. I looked at Remy who covered Caliban from the rock fall. Remy may have got his back hurt. But they were alright.

A dark figure with long hair, came through the blast scene. I knew who the person was. When he came to the light, Remy's face looked shocked. It almost seemed a surprise that he was here to attack Caliban. He had quite long black hair which he would neva cut like Samson. He had a moustache which made him look like a street-level thug. He had a strange armoured suit which exposes his left naked shoulder. He had a gun on his hands. The familiar figure smiled as he saw me, Remy, and Caliban.

"What do you know?" He said. "Isn't this a surprise? HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!" He raised his gun, pointin' at me. "Shock till you drop dead!"

BLAM!

Year- 2054 A.D. Two Months Earlier.

Location- East Side of Manhattan, New York.

A short walk in the park. Jack Wyngarde escorted us towards a warehouse by usin' an illusion where we became Sebastian's right-hand men. The men with the masks. It's a dirty trick I tell ya. Jack can do all sorts of illusionary stuff from his mind. He even disguised himself as a handsome man just like Emma Frost would make herself beautiful. However, he also became one of the masked soldier just for this mission. So that Shinobi Shaw wouldn't realize who we were. Emma made sure that the so-called Gamemaster wouldn't recognize us. Her psychic powers do come in handy. I had to say her powers were becomin' greater than Jean Grey's. No offense.

The warehouse looks pretty deserted. One of Shinobi's masked soldiers came up to us. He said, "State your status."

"We're Shaw's men," Jack said. "We've decided to join with your boss."

Shinobi's masked soldier said, "I see. I'll have to report this to him. Wait here."

"Are you sure this is going to work, Mr. Wyngarde," Hank said. "I don't see the point of doing this. What if Shinobi doesn't trust us?"

"Oh yes, he will," Jack said confidently.

"But..." Hank said. "Doesn't Shinobi know you're with Sebastian?"

"Relax, my friend. I've come to deceive many people as I like," Jack said. Cyclops looked at him. He didn't say anythin' about it. He knew what Jack was talkin' about. Emma said to him closely, "Just forget it, Scott. We've come here to do the mission."

Scott relaxed for a moment and said, "Right." He looked at the warehouse, waitin' patiently for the soldier's arrival. A few minutes later, the masked soldier came back to us. He said, "The boss is waiting for you. This way." We followed the soldier to the warehouse. There were masked soldiers or guards everywhere. We went inside the warehouse. It looked dirty, unclean, and the cobwebs were all over the place. The broken piles of boxes laid on the ground floor. This place wasn't like the Sebastian Shaw's mansion. A man sat on his chair with two people besides him. One was Fabian Cortez, the former Acolyte of Magneto. He had the power to enhance mutant abilities. The other one was a woman named Siena Blaze. She can generate blasts of electromagnetic energy.

Shinobi rose up from his seat, lookin' at us. I wonder if he knew our true identity. Maybe, the Gamemaster told him. Emma knew Shinobi before ever since she joined the Hellfire Club in the past. She once had a secret affair with him. When Sebastian found out about it, he tortured her. She transformed into the diamond form. That's how she escaped from the Hellfire Club and came to join the X-Men. Emma told me her story when I first teamed up with the X-Men.

"I hear that you all wanted to join me," Shinobi said. "Why betray my father?"

Jack said, "We thought it would be best interest to join you. We're here to help you...boss."

"I see," Shinobi looked at us for a while. He walked around the dirty rubble of the warehouse. He said, "I have a feeling something's not right here. Don't you think?" He looked over to Fabian and Seina. They didn't respond.

"Oh f*ck!" I said slowly. "He knows. I knew this would be a trap."

"But on the other hand..." Shinobi continued as he shoved off his white hair which covered the half of his face. "I will allow you in one condition."

"What's that?" Jack asked.

"Defeat Fabian and Seina for me," Shinobi said.

We looked at each other. Great! We had to kill them just to prove ourselves? What an @$$hole. Fabian and Seina were just standin' there besides Shinobi's chair. One of them, Seina was smilin' at me and said, "What's the matter? Are you chicken?"

"What do we do, Sugah?" Rogue turned to Scott in a whisper. Scott kept quiet as he seemed to think what the next step would be. He shouted, "Jack! Undo the illusion!"

Jack Wyngarde looked at him with a sigh. He said, "Alright." The illusion went away. Shinobi and his men saw us with kinda surprise. Even Fabian Cortez and Seina Blaze.

"I knew it!" Shinobi said. "My father has sent the X-Men to kill me. How rubbish."

"D@mn it!" Emma said. She probably failed to protect our minds from the Gamemaster. She looked kinda tired. Maybe, she was too old for this. If she used her psychic powers too much, the blood will keep bleedin' from her nose. She had to somehow balance her powers out. But it didn't work.

"My father always wanted power to himself," Shinobi said. "But that shall not happen. Not now! FABIAN! SEINA! GET THEM!"

Fabian and Seina rushed towards us. Hank shouted, "Whatever you do! Don't let Fabian touch you!" He jumped like an acrobat, near the top of his ceilin' floor. Rogue flew and punched Fabian in the face. Seina blasted her electromagnetic balls towards us. We fell down on the floor. Except for Cyclops who stood and generated a blast from his eyes. The blast missed Seina when she jumped over the rubble. Shinobi watched with excitement. Then he shouted, "GUARDS! GET THEM! NOW!" The guards came outside the warehouse, shootin' their several rounds at us. I unleashed my adamantium claws, slashin' their chests off.

"WRAAAAAAAOOOR!" I cried out in anger. The guards screamed with pain as they tried to shoot me. Emma sends a psychic blast wave against the guards. The masked guards were knocked down. Colossus lift one guard up and threw him on the floor. The other guards gathered around the Colossus. But he managed to throw them backwards. They fell down on the wasted floor. Cyclops blasted each of the guards. He split the blast sideways, and hit the guards from the corners of the warehouse. Seina blasted against Cyclops. "ARRGGGH!" Cyclops cried with pain as he fell down on the floor. Emma shouted, "SCOTT!" She rushed towards him. Cyclops got up slightly and said, "I'm fine, Emma." Hank swings the light lamp and hit the three guards down. Rogue was still fightin' with Fabian. He used his fightin' skills to punch Rogue in the face as she tried to take his power. Rogue got up from the floor and was ready to punch. But Seina intervened and gave a punch on Rogue's stomach. "AAARGH!" Rogue cried in pain. Then she touched both of Seina's hands and absorbed her power. Later, Seina fell into unconsciousness. Rogue looked at Fabian, givin' him a smile. She generated a blast of electromagnetic energy towards him. But Fabian managed to topple over the blast. He jumped down the floor and punched in her face again. I ran towards him, raisin' my adamantium claws. But Fabian touched my hand, sendin' pain through my body.

"How do you feel, Wolverine? Fabian asked with a wicked smile. "Like to feel better? I'll make you stronger than before."

"WRAAAAAAAAA!" I shouted with intense pain.

"Oh no!" Hank said. He came and hit Fabian's face. I walked away from them, feelin' dizzy and watchin' them fight. Hank pulled Fabian's white long hair backwards, holdin' his body. "ARRRGH!" Fabian cried angrily to Hank. "You...animal. I'll..."

"I'm sorry to say this, Mr. Cortez," Hank said, "Say hello to my good old friend. Will you?"

"Wha..What?" Fabian asked with confusion. Then Beast hold his neck and twisted it. Fabian fell on the ground, dead. I looked at Beast who just killed him. I neva thought he would do such a thing. I always thought the X-Men would neva kill bad guys. Hank came to me and said, "Logan...Are you alright? Logan?"

"Yeah...I think I'm fine." I said, tryin' to come back to my senses. "Hank...you..."

"I know, Logan," Hank said as he stared at Fabian's dead body. "After all, we're living in the darkest times. I didn't want him to activate your secondary mutation. So...I had to make a choice."

"Hank..." I paused. "I don't know...what to say."

"Thank me later," Hank said. We all looked at Shinobi who stood alone there. He looked around the guards, the dead Fabian and the unconsciousness Seina.

"Heh! Heh! Heh! Ha! Ha! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!" Shinobi laughed out loudly. "YOU FOOLS! YOU THINK CAN DEFEAT ME! THINK AGAIN!"

"It's over, Shinobi!" Scott said. He fired a blast at Shinobi. But the blast came through him. Shinobi became intangible kinda like a ghost. He rushed towards Scott and transformed into rock skin. He gave a hard punch on Scott's face. He fell down on the dirty floor. Then the disguised Jack came over Shinobi and hit him. But the hit didn't do anythin' to the hard-rocked version of Shinobi. Shinobi smiled and punched Jack's stomach very hard. Jack holds his stomach, goin' backwards away from him. Shinobi rushed towards Jack, hittin' all over his body. Jack fell down on his knees.

Colossus ran towards Shinobi. But Shinobi use both of his arms and hit Peter's chest. The Colossus went flyin' backwards. Emma transformed into diamond form, rushin and hittin' Shinobi. The wicked son smiled as he took Emma's arm and spins her around, throwin' away into the floor.

"HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! YOU X-MEN CANNOT DEFEAT ME! I WILL CONTROL THE HELLFIRE CLUB ONCE AND FOR ALL!"

Jack Wyngarde looked up at Shinobi, takin' out a small gun from his side pocket. He raised the gun, firin' a shot into Shinobi's hard rock body. "Ugh!" Shinobi said as he saw the shooter. Then he became back to normal. "What the h*ll?" He asked with confusion. Jack immediately rushed towards him, and punched through Shinobi's chest.

"BLAAARGH!" The blood splattered out of the wicked son's mouth. He looked at Jack's face. Jack Wyngarde smiled and the illusion faded away. It was Sebastian Shaw. An illusion within an illusion. We didn't know he was with us all along.

"Wha..What..." Shinobi paused. "No...It can't...be."

"That's right," Sebastian said. "It was my plan to kill you, my son."

"Wha...did...you...shoot me...with..."

"It's a power dampener. One of Forge's toys," Sebastian replied.

We looked each other in shock. Scott was gettin' up from the floor and asked, "What?"

Sebastian didn't look back at us. He only stared at his own son who always wanted power. Sebastian said, "I'm sorry, son. But I'm disappointed in you. You said you wanted power? You were given power when you joined my club."

"I...see..." Shinobi said slowly.

"You are my flesh and blood. Now you die in the hands of my blood. Goodbye, my son." Sebastian took his arm out of Shinobi's chest. Then Shinobi fell on the floor, dead.

Jack Wyngarde and Harry Leland came outside the warehouse. They looked over the dead bodies. Harry said, "Oh my, I should have been here to see all this. Nice work, Mr. Shaw."

"Why, thank you, Harry," Sebastian said. He looked at us, givin' a smirk on the face. Scott faced towards him and asked, "What's the meaning of this? You had Forge's power dampener?"

"Not only that, Scott. I have everything I ever wanted."

"What's that suppose to mean?" Hank asked.

Sebastian walked around the rubble. He turned around towards us and said, "I also have the Gamemaster."

Who's the man with the strange armoured suit? Is he the crazy guy who killed the X-Men? Shaw just revealed that he has the Gamemaster? Holy $hit! This guy can't be trusted.
