“Balder.” Thor looked down at his brother’s pale face, His golden hair covered his bloodhot eyes as tears fell down his face. “They say you are badly wounded, wake brother. Wake.”
“Thor? This shouldn’t have happened, I was meant to be the leader, it shouldn’t have happened on my wat-“
“Summers, stop. It was not you who attacked my brother.”
“But I feel responsible.”
“as is the burden of leadership. My brother is a god, he will live and fight another day and if he does not then he fulfilled the dream of every asgardian. To die in battle, as a warrior.”
“Thor, I-” A loud crash was heard down the corridor and several screams rung in the ears of the heroes. Cyclops ran out of the room and was faced with large blue figures, their eyes glared at his visor as they stormed toward him with clubs and swords in their hands. Cyclops took up a fighting stance as a hand fell heavy on his shoulder. Cyclops turned to see Thor placing his helmet on his head with one hand reaching for mjolnir with his other.
“Scott, go and help the civilians that are in danger. I will handle these pretend warriors.” Only his mouth moved as his eyes locked on his targets.
Cyclops relaxed “What are they?” he asked.
Thor spoke two words as if possessed by anger.
“Frost Giants.” He spoke as he swung mjolnir at the one with the sword, Cyclops went back into Balder’s room. “Balder.”
“yes m’lord?”
“there are peop-things here to attack you. Thor’s dealing with them but I think he might need some help, I’ve put out a distress call to the rest of the team but we have to get you out of here now.”
“No. I will stay and I will fight. I will not let my brother battle these monsters alone.”
“Balder, I get the whole stand by each other thing, I really do but now. Now we’ve got to move you, I need you alive. Brain, Johnny, buck and Wade will be here soon. Just tell us their weakness.”
“Fire.”
“That’s what I’m here for.” Johnny Storm grinned childishly as he hovered outside of the room.
“where are these oh-so-bad idiots?”
“In the hallway.” Said scott as he reached for the communicator on his wrist. “Bucky, you and the others are to assist the emergency services in evacuation of the area and help any civilians in danger.” Scott looked behind himself as the joint forces of Thor and The human torch took on the frost giants. “Johnny! Go hotter, it’s not working!”
“I can’t scott, it’s too dangerous to do inside I’ve got to get outside!”
“Alright, hold ‘em there until we clear the area.” Cyclops jumped out of the 2 floor hospital room and landed on a pile of rubble. “Buck, We’ll never get them out before Johnny’s forced to bring it out here.” Nomad thought for a moment and pulled out a phone from his belt.
“help as many out a you can, I’m calling in reinforcements.” Buck moved to the side of the action. “Steve? Yeah, it’s me we’re sorta pinned down out here. We’ve got two mythological beings here and we need some help to evacuate the civilians.” A crackling came on the other end of the phone.
“Steve?”
“Sorry Buck,we’re sort of pinned down ourselves at the moment. I’ll get someone back to you. Gotta go.” The phone line went dead.
“well, what did he say?” Cyclops appeared from behind a police car with a small child in his arms.
“They’re pressed for people but he says he’ll get back to me.” A roar was heard and an armoured figure landed in front of the two Defender’s.
“Tony?” asked scott.
“Not quite gentlemen.” Cyclops and Nomad looked at each other in shock at the female voice coming from the suit.
“then wh-“
“Pepper potts. Codename: Rescue.”
“But ho-?”
“Gentlemen. There are people that need saving.”
“of course.” The three headed toward a group of firefighters and policemen trying to lift a large piece of rock in order to get to the civilians trapped inside the emergency bunker below. Meanwhile, Thor and The human torch were trying several combination attacks trying to defeat the frost giants.
one of the monsters dived into thor and threw him out of the window of one of the hospital rooms.
Johnny flew out of the building as the frost giants chased him.
“EVERYONE COVER YOUR EYES!”Scott screamed.
Johnny storm flew up so both giants could see. “SUPERNOVA!” he shouted as he burned as brightly as the sun. The frost giants seemed unfazed and laughed at Thor’s face as he stared at them in complete bewilderment.
“ what trick are you playing, I demand to know.”
“can you say…magic Odin-son?” Thor glanced upward as a flash of red and blue landed on the two giants, Captain Britain stood victoriously over the bodies. “Can you say beaten?” asked braddock as he spat.
“So, you’re name is rescue?” Wilson asked.
“Yes.”
“well uhh, you wanna join the team?”
Cyclops interrupted, “Wade, I’M the leader which means I choose who’s in the team.”
Deadpool waddled dramatically towards the T.V “Listen pepper, despite how much of an idiot Wade really is, we’d love for you to join. We specialise more in the fighting part than the rescuing innocent bystanders part so, if you want to join we won’t say no.” Cyclops smiled.
“I’d-I’d love to”
“Great!” he said as he pulled her towards the others.
“Alright defenders, listen up. Our newest member of the team. Pepper Potts, Rescue.”
