Use this URL to see the fanfic. http://superheroesareonlyhuman.blogspot.com/2011/11/queen-soja-and-vampirellas-further.html It’s been a few months since I Queen Sonja killed Kulan Gath. My heart still aches for Spiderman. Vampirella has come to stay at my castle for a while. I introduced her as Princess Olga from a distant kingdom. I will call her Olga in my account. I told her that one of my concerns was that it has been a hundred years at least since my realm was mapped and I fear that there may be settlements I don’t know about. Olga whispers to me that she can fly and could survey my realm from the sky. I agreed with her proposal, but I told her she could rest for a couple of days. That night at dinner I noticed that Olga ate a lot of meat and seemed to be strong and healthy. Later on I escorted her to her room. When we got inside I asked her about her need for blood. She said she brought plenty of serum and that she could almost survive on the rare meat alone. I bid her goodnight and retired to my room for the night. After breakfast the next morning I showed Olga the maps of my realm. My country is pretty good size. It would take a week to cross it at its narrowest and three weeks at it’s longest. I let Olga study the maps and went about my business. I introduced her to my maid Svetlana who is also the castle’s physician. The next night Olga turned herself into a bat and flew out her window and into the sky. The next day she reported a settlement not on the map. She showed me where it was on the map. A short time later I went with a band of my soldiers to this village. I announced who I am and told them they had to swear an oath of loyalty to me. I was glad they did so. They have been there about ten years from another kingdom. The next day I told Olga about the village. Olga continued her night flights and a couple of more villages were found. Most of the villagers took the oath but there were a few who wouldn’t. I think they were followers of Kulan Gath. They were put to death. Shortly after this a young prince named Ivan the heir of a neighboring kingdom came to the castle on a diplomatic mission. He gave me some documents from the king. Unfortunately he fell ill, literally. I had Svetlana examine him and she said he had the ague and thought he would recover in ten to fourteen days. He was shaking with fever and was taken to a guest room and was covered with several blankets. One of his escorts remained with him and the other returned to the king to let him know what happened. The next morning I brought some broth in to him and since he was so weak I hand fed him. It’s a cultural protocol to perform this service for Prince Ivan. Besides he is sort of cute in a youthful way. Svetlana brought in food for the escort. I did that for maybe six days. Gradually the prince’s fever subsided and he could feed himself. After about thirteen days Svetlana told me the prince could travel now. She thinks he is in love with me and needs some prodding to leave. Svetlana said that in lingering cases they treat the patient with leeches. I suspected that the prince hated leeches and would leave. She told the prince that since he was still sick he would be treated with leeches starting tomorrow. He turned pale. I can’t stand leeches and I may have turned pale too. The next morning after breakfast Prince Ivan said he was feeling much better and would be leaving in a couple of hours with my permission. I said it was pleasing that he was better now and he had my blessing to go. As he was getting ready to leave I handed him some documents to take to his father. He thanked me for taking care of him. I said he was welcome. As he rode off I started feeling weak and sick and quickly passed out. I must have had a high fever because I was beset by bad dreams. In one, Kulan Gath returned from the dead and had captured me and was about to put me to death with fire. I woke up briefly and was shivering with the ague. Svetlana fed me a few spoonfuls of broth and spoke comforting words to me. I passed out again and dreamed that I was being chased by leeches of all sizes. They got me cornered but before they could touch me I woke up again. It was night but I was able to see that there were two other people in bed with me. I suspected it was Svetlana and Olga. Their presence was comforting and I leaned against the person next to me and went back to sleep. I dreamt that my beloved Conan was telling me that it wasn’t time to join him and that I would recover. I woke up sweating. Both Olga and Svetlana were in the room and were glad to see me awake. Svetlana held the bowl of broth and Olga fed me the whole bowl. I was feeling better. I had one more strange dream in which Olga and Svetlana were my wives. That kind of thing isn’t permitted in my land. I love them like sisters . I thanked Olga and Svetlana for taking care of me, and we hugged. I don’t know how long I saw sick but it was probably more than a week. One night shortly after four am I was awakened by the chief of the guards, Captain Gregor, who reported that the ashes of Kulan Gath were missing from their urn. It was mandatory that the urn be checked once an hour as the guards walked their rounds. Gregor said the ashes disappeared between three and four am. I immediately ordered that the castle and village be sealed off and that both should be searched. Olga volunteered to fly around and see what she could see from the air. We embraced and I reminded her to be careful. All of the villagers were brought to the meeting hall. I told them I was sorry to do this but they needed to be searched. Svetlana and her assistants searched the women and children and the guards searched the men. Nothing was found. I told them that their homes were being searched and hopefully no damage would be done. I had breakfast brought in for the villagers and their moods improved. I sent the remaining guards to search the village. Now there was nothing more to do except wait.
