Watched the bridge collapse, there was nothing I could do about it. When people who throw elephants start fighting in the city the best you can do is move out of the way. At least there’s one less on the street.
An overabundance of police due to the bridge and the raid on the Plaza means a lot of the scumbags and filth I’d normally shakedown for bigger fish or just outright eliminate are keeping their heads down. Not for long…

Frank nodded to Pa as he left Ma & Pa’s Pancake Plaza. They were good people who never dropped a dime on him, but also that blanket of generosity extended to everyone on all sides of the law. Like a batter based Switzerland.Frank stepped outside and tucked himself into his hat and coat. It wasn’t the weather for it but it did hide who he was from casual observers and conceal the fact he was carrying.
“This is getting to be too much of a regular thing,” growled Frank as he watched an ugly scarred man step out of a big black van. He strode over towards him and before the man knew what was happening he was slammed flat against the van, a sawn-off shotgun under his chin.
“Hello Mondo!”
“Punisher!” yelped Mondo.
“Get in!”

As Frank drove the van he kept the gun on his ugly friend. About three years ago he encountered Mondo Pain, real name Steven Haynes*, who was running a lumber stealing racket. Mondo had a reputation for a high pain threshold, so Frank put four bullets in his chest and kicked him off the now destroyed George Washington Bridge.
“You a zombie?” asked Frank.
“No!” replied Mondo. “What kind of dumb q…” He didn’t get to finish as Frank jammed the barrel against his temple and pinned him to the window.
“So what are you doing now?”
“Nothing man, I’m clean! I swear!”
Frank glowered at him “Really?” Frank slowly squeezed on the trigger.
“OKAY! OKAY! I’m working for the Fat man!”
“Why would Fisk hire you?”
“I ain’t working for Fisk!” yelped Mondo. “You let me go and I’ll tell you everything.”
Punisher glared at him and lowered the gun onto the seat. Quickly he jerked the wheel making the van swing, flinging Mondo over to the driver’s side. Frank smashed him in the nose with his elbow before cracking him in the nose with a powerful left sending him back into the corner of the passenger’s seat.
“You tell me everything!” Frank raised the gun and corrected the van back into line. “Or you can get out! Your choice.”
Mondo looked at the speedometer; it was pushing 60mph as they headed in towards the Holland Tunnel. Mondo gulped.
“I’m working for The Slug!”
Punisher snarled as he pushed the van up to seventy.

Ulysses Lugman aka The Slug. A fat gelatinous mass of filth that makes Fisk look like a super model! Unlike Fisk who is on par with sumo or professional wrestlers having bulk beneath his massive frame, the Slug is just an obese sweating ^%$#! And twice as bad as Kingpin.
He use to operate out of Miami and he’s into the stuff that’s beneath Fisk; child pornography, chop shops, weed. He got busted a while back and instead of ending him, they locked the fat sack up!
Seems I need to get a Mack truck full of salt…

Frank shot through the tunnel and headed towards the warehouses down by Morris Canal, Mondo spewing forth information like a malfunctioning ATM. He listened intently before screeching the van to a halt.
“Get out.” Frank pushed a button rolling down his and the passenger window.
“Really?” Mondo looked shocked.
“No.”
Frank stuck the shotgun in his face and pulled the trigger blowing Mondo’s face through the back of his head and out the window. Frank looked at Mondo, waiting for a sign that he was still alive. Satisfied he was dead he pushed a remote on a set of keys and a large garage began to roll up nearby. Punisher slowly pulled the van in. He had a lot of work to do.

The van will do nicely as my new battle van, needs a lot of work though. It is times like these I miss having that nerd around. It’s not like I can call Hank Pym or Tony Stark up…
