Parker Robbins ran along the wall pursued by the sickle wielding member of the Trinity whilst another ran on the opposite side of the room firing arrows at him. Between the destruction done by Barracuda and the bullets and bolts going wide the room was quickly resembling a war zone. In the centre of the room the third member of the trio of witch hunters stood stock still, the massive tower shield rotating under its own power to face the Hood where ever he stood, and while she wasn't actively engaging in the battle Parker knew she was the deadliest of the Trinity. More worryingly he could feel an increased surge in magic spreading out from the cities CBD, a clear sign that Hecate had engaged his forces directly as opposed to sending her underlings to defend her turf.

With an almighty spring Parker leapt off the wall and landed feet first into the archer, the pair falling to the floor with a crash. Recovering first the Hood got to his feet and fired a shot into his foes brain just as the sickle wielding sister followed his path and landed on the wall before springing off, the recurved blade narrowly missing Parker’s left arm. Ducking and rolling under the attack the Hood landed by the shield wielding sister and pushed her to the floor as her sickle wielding team-mate recovered. Hefting the tower shield with his increased strength Parker through the ward straight at the swordswoman and watched as it sliced through her neck before exploding into a shower of light and sound.

“Better than that fossilised hack Captain America could ever do.” Parker snarled to himself before turning to see the last member of the Trinity slash out with a pair of athames, the blades sparking with electrical energy. Phasing through his foe Parker turned and watched as his opponent spun round and started running at him. With a dark smile and a flick of the wrist the Hood sent the woman’s skeleton flying out of her body and shattering against the back wall. “A pity I could have used women like you in my operation.” Parker sighed before looking out to the city skyline. “Hecate I’m coming for you.”

Barracuda parked outside the Crossroads Casino, or what was left of it, and turned the radio off the sound of ‘The Archies’ Sugar Sugar quickly replaced by the sound of explosions, gunfire and an unearthly scream that made his blood bubble out of his nose. Looking over at the Answer he saw that while not bleeding the sound was causing him some pain, enough for him to lock the doors and turn the radio on again.

“Time to get a Sit-Rep.” He stated as he handed Barracuda a packet of Kleenex tissues. “Miss Knight are you there” He called down the headset he wore.

“Agent Doggett, or should I call you Aaron?” Misty hissed her voice barely audible over the gunfire. “I have among other thing a three headed woman loose on the casino floor. Do you have an answer for that?”

“You're a smart woman Misty but I hold the cards. Right now my associate Mr Clay has the man who shot the samurai in his sights. If you promise to ignore the actions of my employer I’ll order him to take the shot.”

“Not a chance.” Misty snarled as Ossuary threw a burning fridge past her at the barricade Rapido was hiding behind.

“You'll have a chance to answer again. My other associate is right outside the samurai’s door. Either let us act without fear of prosecution or hear her die. It’s your choice.”

“Why don't you ask Miss Vaughn what her opinion is?” Misty stated as she opened fire on one of Hecate’s heads only for the other two to glare at her, beams of violet energy lancing across the floor. Evading the beams Misty heard the Answer talking to someone else. “She’s gone, you moved her!!” He spat with venomous intent.

“You're a smart boy Aaron you'll figure it out.” Misty told him before turning her attention back to the battle. At the moment both the Heroes for Hire and the Batroc Brigade had switched their focus to Hecate for whatever good it was doing, the woman seemed impervious to everything they could throw at her. “Okay we need to stop her, ideas anyone?” Misty asked over her headset.

“She’s throwing out energy discharges.” High-Tech answered as he melted the floor with his alchemy gun, the charging casino guards getting stuck in the liquid mess. “At the right frequency I could be able to jam her powers.” He added as the Iron Maiden fired an under-slung grenade at Hecate only for the goddess to catch the projectile and ignite it before flinging it back at her. “But I will need time.” He added as Thundra rushed past whirling a length of reinforced razor wire over her head.

“Cloak could teleport her perhaps.” Dagger suggested as she fired a volley of light daggers at Ossuary, the stone creature simply shrugging off the projectiles and continuing to rip chunks of floor up and fling them around the room. “Misty look out!!” She yelled as the ceiling erupted and a massive bat swooped in before trying to grab the heroine only to be repelled by a quick shot to the eye. Back-stepping Misty hit something and saw that Hecate was know looming over her, purple energy radiating out of her eyes before slamming into her chest, the beams striking her in the chest and knocking her back.

“Misty are you okay?” Dagger gasped as Thundra slammed the chain into Ossuary before whirling around to face the bat creature, the razor sharp barbs ripping its cheek open. Misty groaned and her chest writhed before splitting open to reveal an almost identical woman dressed in a buckskin shirt and skirt, her eyes glowing yellow. “Free.” The woman hissed, “Free to hunt.” She added before slashing at dagger with recurved talons.

“Wh…what happened?” Cloak gasped as the ‘feral Misty’ backed off before grabbing a sword from the ground. “Wh…who is that?” He asked pointing to the hooded figure standing over Misty’s body. Dagger peered at Misty but saw nobody before spinning around to see Thundra’s body slam into High-Tech, two puncture marks in her neck.

“Cloak get that three headed b!+[h out of here!!” She snarled as Thundra reached up to block a blow from Ossuary only for the Golem to snap her arm back. Nodding Cloak surged forward before wrapping Hecate in a dark-force cocoon and disappearing into the shadows.

“Did we stop her?” High-Tech groaned as he ducked under a flying kick from Batroc. Dagger scanned the area and saw Ossuary and the bat creature retreat as the Casino started shaking.

“No we just made her angry.” She gasped as the air transformed to water before the flood cracked open the casino showering debris across the road.

“Eyes on the road, eyes on the road.” Marty yelled as Cherry Blossom spun the hotwired Ferrari F430 around the corner. “Oh my god what is that?” He gasped as a massive surge of water surged down the street swallowing cars and the few late night clubbers on the pavement. Just ahead of the wave a black pickup truck desperately tried to stay out in front and came gunning straight for them. Marty closed his eyes and felt Cherry spin the car before feeling the pickup slam into them and then the water toss the vehicles like rag dolls down the street before slamming them into the asphalt.

“Marty.” Cherry Blossom groaned from the driver’s seat causing the Gibbon to peer over. “I’m…I…I…I” She kept gasping as her face collapsed into water that ran down the street and to the bare feet of the woman outside. Wiggling free Marty got a quick glimpse of the multiple headed woman before she vanished in a cloud of silver dust, the wind carrying her back towards where the casino had stood.

“Misty this is the Gibbon. Cherry Blossom is dead.” Marty stated as he sat on the pavement unaware of the door of the pickup flying open. “Misty, Thundra anyone, can you hear me.” He cried into the broken headset. “Please anybody respond.”

“I can hear you.” A low cruel voice snarled causing Marty to spin around and see Barracuda hovering over him, one of his hands almost ripped off by the force of the wave and his right eye bleeding profusely. Getting to his feet Marty felt something burn through his fur and into his skin, electricity arcing up and down his body. “Looks like meat’s back on the menu.” He added as he switched off the stun gun he was carrying and hauled Marty over his shoulder.

Buck Mitty AKA Humbug looked in the back of the ambulance at the paramedic he had kidnapped before returning his attention back to the road. He had managed to warn Misty about what Miami’s local fire ant population had warned him of and together they had decided Colleen must be moved. Looking back again he saw the paramedic swap the IV drip over before turning back to the road. Checking his mirrors he saw something green and purple flit into view before feeling the ambulance rattle.

“Can you keep this steady?” The paramedic, a woman of Cuban descent called Isobel yelled.

“Sure.” Mitty answered before tapping his headset and checking the mirrors again. “Misty come in Misty I have what looks like third of the Sinister Six on my tail.” He stated as he checked the other mirror and saw a woman equipped in bronze flight armour form up on the tail of the green and purple figure and fire a wave of razor tipped projectiles at the ambulance.

“Misty is <cough> Misty is I don't know what.” Thundra coughed over the headset. “The casino just got flattened.” She added.

“Well I have what appears to be the Beetle and Vulture on my tail.” Mitty answered before feeling the hood rock as a man dressed in leather leapt out of one of the trees lining the side of the road and landed feet first on the ambulance’s bonnet, buckling the vehicle before ripping the windshield out.

“Give us the Samurai.” Alyosha Kraven snarled before thrusting a spear against Mitty’s throat. “Or join her in death.”

Thundra groaned as the steel bubble, formed by High-Tech's Alchemy Pistol, around them collapsed into dust revealing both the Heroes for Hire and the remains of the Batroc Brigade inside as a column of water spiralled down from the sky, Hecate safely cocooned inside.

“No amount of cash is worth zis.” Batroc spat before looking over to Rapido and Iron Maiden. “We are leaving.” He added before he and the brigade sprinted away leaving the Heroes for Hire behind in the rubble.

“I’ve got the frequency.” High-Tech croaked. “Hit her now.” He ordered as Thundra charged forward through the rubble as Ossuary emerged and grabbed her by the foot and slammed her into the ground.

“Science is no match for the Matron Goddess of Witchcraft!!” Hecate boomed as her eyes glowed purple as did High-Tech’s armour until it exploded outwards leaving Curtis exposed to the elements. “I am the dusk and the dawn, the moon and the stars, traveller’s bane and midnight’s queen. I am the Triple Goddess,” She screamed, as the water incinerated around her into thick steam, “and no one here is my equal.”

“I’d like to test that.” A calm voice stated as the crimson cloaked form of the Hood stepped forward.

“As would I.” Hecate purred. “Camazotz, Ossuary deal with the heroes while I rip Mephisto’s basted in two.” She ordered her monstrous followers as the Hood vanished in a flash of crimson light. With a sinister cackle Hecate vanished into silver mist and followed as Ossuary threw Thundra down the pile of burning rubble to where Curtis, Cloak and Dagger clustered around Misty’s body.

“What are they doing?!” Misty yelled as she stood on the marble platform above the battlefield. “Where am I?”

“I rescued your soul.” The hooded figure grasping a long handled scythe explained. “Before Hecate claimed you as prey for her Wild Hunt. And as such I expect to be repaid.”

“Who are you?” Misty whispered. “What do you want?”

“Some called me the Bride of Set, others the Necromancer and some the Hooded Haunt. My true name is Nephtys.” The Hooded Haunt answered. “And I want what you want after a fashion.”

“No you don’t, you are about to go all Starscream on your boss.” Misty replied. “You want me to be your hatchet woman and do the dirty work for you.”

“You refuse?” The Hooded Haunt asked, the sounds of dying screams echoing from her cloak.

Misty bent her head and looked at her team-mates fighting and struggling against both the Hood’s and Hecate’s forces before looking the Haunt in the eye and answering the goddess in a cold flat voice. “Tell me how to kill her?”
