Welcome to Mashed Up Origins!
This is an experiment of mine that I was going to make into a group, but with the chaos that a group can bring I decided to go it alone. It’s short, sweet and basically a quick origin where one hero gets anothers origin, something to make you go (hopefully) “I’d like to see that!”

John Jonah Jameson stepped off the troop transport onto American soil and breathed a sigh of relief. It had been a long stint in Vietnam covering the war but finally he was home; away from the flies and napalm and bullets.
“Come with me please sir!” stated an MP who stopped right in front of him.
Jonah looked at him and the other two who had joined him. “What’s going on?”
“This way please sir!”

Jonah sat at the table dumbfounded as the officer relayed the brutal slaying of his wife and his son during a mugging gone wrong. He looked at the photos which chilled his soul and burnt onto his retinas.
"It happened about eight weeks ago," the officer went to take the photos away when Jonah caught his wrist and pushed it away. He glared at him and the returned to looking at them.
“Who did this?” he finally said softly.
“The police don’t know,” replied the officer “I am truly sorry for your loss.”
“Not as sorry as they will be!” seethed Jonah as shook with rage.

Jonah used his contacts in the army to get his hands on some weaponry. He used his contacts in the media to pry into the police case, as newly appointed editor at the Bugle Joseph Robertson had filled the void Jonah left when he went to ‘Nam and wanted to help him. Within weeks Jonah had tracked down the men who had killed his wife and son. He called the police and when they arrived he executed the four men in cold blood and gave himself up. The media called him the Punisher. The trial was botched, some say delibertley and Jonah was acquitted of the murders.
But something had changed within the old journalist. He saw the world for what it was and how the scales of justice didn’t always balance. They were right, they did need punishing!
And so began the bloody spree of the vigilante J Jonah Jameson, the Punisher.
