Marvel Genesis: Luke Cage #9
INT. Bank.
Luke Cage breaks down the wall and comes in.
SECURITY GUARD:
Freeze!
Cage says and does nothing. He starts walking towards the safe. The guard fires bullets at him, but they bounce right off of him. He tears the safe door off. He takes several bags of money and leaves.
Cut to alley.
LUKE CAGE:
I have the money.
A man holding a guitar comes out of the shadows and reveals himself to be the Hypno Hustler.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
Good work Cage. You have passes my expectations.
LUKE:
Hustler... when I... break your... hypnosis, I... will... take... you... down!
HYPNO HUSTLER:
The hypnosis is wearing off. Looks like I’ve got to do it again.
Hypno Hustler takes his guitar and hypnotizes Cage again.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
Are you in my control again?
LUKE:
Yes. I live to serve you.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
Good. I need more money. I want you to attack every bank in New York City.
LUKE:
Yes master.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
Go!
CUT TO
INT. The bank
The same thing that happened at the last bank, he tears down a wall, bullets bounce off of him, and he starts to leave with the money. However, this time he is confronted by one of New York’s heroes, the Daredevil.
DAREDEVIL:
Put the money down.
Cage continues to walk, until Daredevil attacks him. They fight, until Cage’s hypnosis begins to ware off a little.
LUKE:
Wait! I’m... not in... control. hypnotized.
DAREDEVIL:
Yeah. I’m suppose to believe that?
Then, it wears off completely.
LUKE:
Daredevil? I’ve heard of you from newspapers.
DAREDEVIL:
Now you suddenly want to be my friend?
Daredevil kicks him in the face.
LUKE:
Listen to me! I was hypnotized to rob the bank.
DAREDEVIL:
Your heart beat isn’t raising. You might be telling the truth.
Daredevil kicks him again.
DAREDEVIL:
You’re also not fighting back.
LUKE:
Yes. Please believe me.
DAREDEVIL:
Okay. But I have my eye on you. If you breath the wrong way, you’re getting stabbed in the chest.
LUKE:
Yeah, I don’t know how easy that would be. Look, you’ve got to help me defeat Hypno Hustler. I can’t stop him, because whenever I try to attack him, he hypnotizes me.
DAREDEVIL:
I’ll help, but remember, breath the wrong way and I will take you down.
LUKE:
Look, here’s the story.
CUT TO.
EXT. the alley
Hypno Hustler is there waiting for Luke Cage to come back.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
Where is he? If his hypnosis wore off, I’ll have to do it again, but at stronger force. If he died, well, I’ve always wanted to control Spider-man.
Suddenly, Daredevil comes lands in front of him.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
The Daredevil? Good. Another hero I can manipulate. If this keeps going, I’ll have every superpowered person in the world doing my bidding.
Hypno Hustler tries to hypnotize Daredevil, but it doesn’t work.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
Impossible! No one can resist my hypnosis.
He backs up and bumps into Luke Cage. Cage grabs his guitar.
LUKE:
I’ll take that.
He rips if in half.
HYPNO HUSTLER:
No, stay back!
Daredevil attacks him from behind.
DAREDEVIL:
Your time is up!
Suddenly, Hypno Hustler zaps Daredevil with a device in his glove. Daredevil falls to the ground. Cage grabs him and uses a lamppost as handcuffs.
LUKE:
The cops will pick you up at some point.
Then, a siren is heard in the background.
LUKE (thoughts):
I’ve got to go.
He starts to climb a ladder, but he sees Daredevil. Cage picks him up, and sets him down on a rooftop.
LUKE:
Live to fight again, Daredevil.
Cage then starts to run across the rooftops, knowing that H.A.M.M.E.R. is still looking for him.
