A goddess sits on a park bench. Her name has become synonymous with enemy though she has no particular malice. She is Nemesis, goddess of vengeance. She once delivered vengeance to whom ever the gods wished it on. Now she is overcome with boredom, the old gods have no influence now they have been reduced to memories. Nemesis was on a beach in Brazil when she felt the return of the son of Zeus. She had no idea why he'd decided to leave his mountain but there had to be a reason. That is why she is here on this bench outside the anthropology department of this university where Hercules is answering a barrage of questions that have become annoying to him.
He thought he would be telling stories of his adventures to eager young people instead he was asked constant questions about the climate and culture of his time. He became annoyed by the arguments raised by people who thought they knew better than the one who'd actually lived in the time and place they were discussing. Finally he'd had enough he said he was leaving them to discuss it amongst them selves.
Yu was in his shop when Achilles walked in. The 2 vaguely remembered meeting each other before not a strong memory but long enough ago to know that the other was far older than they appeared. Achilles couldn't recall his name but knew this was who he was looking for. He knew he was here more to test him out than kill him he'd been sent after other immortals in the past usually for some plan or another he cared nothing about. Yu looked at him and asked his real name Achilles answer was met with a laugh not that Yu didn't believe him he just found it amusing that he'd come here. Achilles then told him why he was here.
Galahad had found that some of the keepsakes he'd had in the cave were valuable in the modern world. He'd made enough money to get some new cloths and a plane ticket to America. On the flight he sat staring out the window spellbound by the clouds beneath him. He'd never dreamed it possible for a man to leave the ground like this. Others looked curiously at the man staring at the window as if it was a miracle.
As Hercules left the building he noticed Nemesis on the bench. He walked straight to her and demanded to know why she was here she smiled at him recognizing the righteous indignation he'd had since childhood it was obvious to her that he was his father's son. The truth was they had problems in the past but she'd missed him. She had watched over him in his childhood she'd been his protector until he'd become able to protect himself. She looked at him like a little brother she jumped up and did something completely human which startled the hero she hugged him. He found it odd the goddess of revenge doing something like this.
Jack came out and without her knowing it a spark of jealousy flared up as she saw Hercules embraced by some woman. She had no idea who she was but he seemed to know her. She walked up and started to introduce herself but was cut off by Nemesis. She immediately noticed her resemblance to his long dead wife and commented on it to Hercules. Jack wasn't sure what they were talking about but started to become nervous when he said her name. Jack had been a student of mythology for awhile and knew the name.
