The people of earth were fighting among themselves and even brother and sister and best of friends were at one another homes bickering about things they could easily fix. The League was in over their heads on this ono, nothing they did seem to get the attention of the people they were losing jobs , losing food and losing hope.
Jonn returned to find a empty apartment and he scanned the planet but could not find her signature thought pattern anyplace. That or was being masked by somebody for some reason. They had just started to become close she had just let him in and know she was gone. Nothing new for her he thought but he wanted more time.
Far to the north across the ice and in the middle of nowhere stood Laura and Alexei.
“Be prepared for what you will find will shock you. ”Alexei took her hand and then they were down below the ice down below in a city vast and huge and old. The people calm they seemed to get along better then anybody anyplace else. They were simply enjoying themselves.”How and why” Said Laura to Elexei and the answer was more complex then could be simply said.
“Earth goes through changes as it goes around the galactic center as does any solar system, Some planets do not survive the change and some suns blow up and go nova but the forces involved are huge” This city has been here since the last change under the ice under the force fields and they have been in and out of the peoples lives ever since. They seemed to not notice Laura or Alexei as they walked among them. “The counsel has decided not to interfere in the affairs of humans for the humans do not seem to even want to go into space and with that in mind most of them waste time working odd jobs and doing nothing that amounts to anything useful”
Laura sat down at one of the many tables and she simply listened to the talk of those around her.
Elexei was right it seemed that these people were happy below the ice they were not wanting to explore anything and waited for the time for the world to shift again and the ice to melt and they would be free and walking the surface world. “The people on the surface will not be so lucky will they” asked Laura.
“No, it seems Dark Seid has been making them fight , making them go against each other and if they simply stopped and thought they would see they have to look at this problem or they will all die”
“Let me take you some place” Alexei grabbed her and took her forward and then they stopped.
They went up again and all around them was ice and Laura flew up until she could see the world turning and all she could see was a planet blanketed with ice.
“It will get worse before it gets better” Said Alexei “Far Worse”
“So Dark Seid new this and all the fighting” said Laura.
“Was a diversion” Answered Alexei.
“It has to happen for the planet to keep going it is the way of things the natural order and what the gods fight to keep safe, You cannot stop it you can only prepare”. “Dark Seid has taken most of your time away I am afraid you will most likely fail”
“Never give up” said Laura “take me home”
