PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA. SEVEN O'CLOCK PM.
"*#%*!!!"
The screams and curses of soldiers filled the downtown East Side. A faint ringing was sent through the ears of the soldiers as a Scorpion military issue shot a projectile straight toward the creature, missing. The exploision was deafening as the apartment building collapsed. It was old, rickety. As the foundation fell, and the highly decorated young soldiers sprinted away, they knew this was the end, they knew that when the dust settled, they wouldn't be there.....And they were right....
The building completely collapsed, a thick layer of mixed smoke and dust began to arise, yet it still shot out of the debris, engulfing the soldiers. Screams of terror were uttered before almost utter silence, only a few soldiers were left, out of the way of the debris. They stood, staring in awe, staring as the dust finally settled. Fire could be seen from the debris, car alarms sounded and before it, was a graveyard. Scattered bodies of fallen soldiers, every single one, dead. These were Iron soldiers, not your average run of the mill M16 soldiers, these guys were good. and they were dead.
"SIR! FOR GOD SAKES! IT'S COMPLETE AND UTTER CHAOS! WE NEED TO TAKE THIS THING DOWN!" creamed another soldier into his comlink.
"Soldier....Stand down....Come on back to base..."Command center replied.
A shadow ccast over the left over soldiers. A large white creature slinking past them before tendrils wrapped around their legs, slipping through the weak places in their armor, screams were heard echoing from within the metal casings before blood began to drip from them....
NEW YORK. TEN AM. NEXT DAY.
The Sky-train sped past Matthew Drake who sat on a hard metal vench located within the station. His ear-buds in, playing an original. 'Rocky Raccoon' by The Beatles. Almost instantly, the glowing TV screens situated around the station. The face of Jacob Hameson flashed onto the screen. His moustache as annoying as ever.
"THIS JUST IN! LAST NIGHT! A BUILDING IN PITTSBURGH WAS TAKEN DOWN! YES! TAKEN DOWN IN OUR ARMY'S ATTEMPT TO DESTROY SOMETHING! SOMEONE! RIGHT NOW! WE HAVE INSIDER FOOTAGE!"
The screens switches to a video of a man standing behind a mailbox, he begins to narrarate what's happening. A mirage of gunfire illiminates vision of the huge creature. A large canon is shot as the building begins to fall. The narrarator screams as dus engulfs the camera and him. The image goes hazy as a huge foot is seen smacking against the ground. The video ends.
"WHO COULD THIS MURDEROUS MONSTER BE!? OUR VERY OWN SPIDER! THAT'S WHO!"
Yet another image flashes. A black figure breaking the neck of a Goblin gang member.
"YES! THAT'S RIGHT! THIS MONSTER! AND I PROMISE TO FIND THIS NO GOOD MONSTER AND BRING HIM TO JUSTICE! A PUBLIC EXECUTION ALONG WITH ALL THE TOEHR SPIDERS! THEIR KIND MUST BE STOPPED!"
The screen flashes back to a coca-cola ad. Matthew Drake sits, staring at the screen, completely unsure of what he had just seen. A large robotic sound could be heard as the train pulled into the station, Matthew stood, before entering and sitting down. He closed his eyes, listening to the music. He loved the power the symbiote held, and he wanted to help people. But he couldn't he knew he couldn't he just wasn't strong enough. Someone else deserved i-
"EVERYBODY BETTER EMPTY THEIR *^&%in wallets and purses! RIGHT NOW! RIGHT NOW!"
Matthew craned his neck, staring at the masked men. He leaped into the air, sticking to the roof, he held his head down before looking to one of them.
"Bad idea."
He leaped towards them, in less than a moment, he was a black figure, laced with a white spider on his back and chest. His eyes also white. The creature slashed the throat of one of the thieves with his claws and kicked the other in the face, caving his head in. Blood splattered across the walls and ground. Matthew stood there, laced in The Symbiote, staring at what he did...And then....
"Who....Are you?"
Said a voice from behind him, he turned slowly to stare at all the passengers holding their camera phones. Matthew stood there for a moment before speaking.
".....Venom....."
He replied simply. An eruption of applause broke out in the train car before Matthew picked up his bag and pryed the door of the train open. He silently leaped out, the door closing behind him. This was the beginning, of something he now knew he had to do....
