How is this fanfic idea?

basically I have been thinking of an idea for a fanfic and I wanted to see your guys reactions to this Idea so here goes:

The story starts in the 1960s with Superman debuting in the U.S.S.R as a new sort of Super soilder for comunism, which upsets the balance of power as the USA tries to come up with a response which eventually happens when Doctor Donald Blake transforms into Thor and is turned into americas superman equivlent. The two would clash in after a dimplomatic situation goes horriably wrong the fight results in a draw, only adding to the tensions.

The story advances two years and both sides start to track down and enlist superhumans in a meta human cold war. Tensions continue to rises untill a full blown and catasprophic meta human war brakes loose.

Thats all I have right now, so I want to see if you guys like the concept.

He discovers he can transform into a simular fashion that he did in comc, he at first would use his power to fight crime untill he is convinced by Supermans actions that Superman is a tyrant ad joins the fight agianst comunism on the grounds that humanity should decide its own fate.

As of right n]ow its just a story but it could turn into a universe as I create more characters and subplots. I plan on adding many more characters into the story like batman, hulk, lex luthor, tony stark, magneto, loki, and maybe even galactus.

Riiiiight. Thought this sounded familer.

I concur with tomdickharry1984 and tmacximas : This is pretty much the plotline of Superman: Red Son (Son as in child not sun as in star). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman:_Red_Son written by Mark Millar. I do wonder how a very American Thor would act though?
