The Guardians of The Galaxy ship has been shot down, they were forced to crash land on planet: Earth and all five are knocked unconscious and injured they wake up in The Cube and have seven days before they're transported and killed by Bolivar Trask.

Season 1 is about planning, calculating, failing, and then succeeding at a prison break out

Season 2 is about the aftermath of being on the run, shows the consequences of being on the run, and shows The Guardians of The Galaxy powerless on earth.
