He watched helplessly as the dark knight on the evil horse charged toward Vy.  Steven tried to warn her, he screamed out for her to run, and when the knight gripped Vy tossing her onto his saddle across his lap. Steven broke into a cold sweat and woke up quickly as he called out for her.

The closet contained his tunic and pants.  The two-handed sword with its hand made leather sheathe leaned against the back of the closet.  The armor stayed at the medieval fair warehouse along with his horse’s armor.  His horse stayed at the local stables.

It was odd how the closet was open.  Steven knew he kept the door closed.  He walked over to the closet and slowly peered inside.  His eyes meet up with a dagger plunged into the door with a note attached.

The shock of the dream that night and now the dagger has his head spinning dizziness sets in as he falls to the ground.  The lights go out in his mind and he hits the floor hard.  The dagger remains in the door along with the note attached still unread.

Chapter 4

Vy awoke with a shudder as she realized she was alone in a dark dungeon room.  The room was small and not very inviting.    The dungeon stank of mildew and rot.  It made her stomach churn in disgust.  Rats clamored about the floor and very little light came from under the metal door.  Vy was frightened and shivering in fear.  Her eyes welled up in tears fearing the worst.

She tried to calm herself and keep her mind busy, but the situation crept up on her like a plague.  Last thing she remembered was being carried off by the knight in black armor and passing out.  The dark knight threw her over his lap with ease.   He didn’t even grunt or strain to pull Vy onto his lap.

The thoughts ran in rampant in her mind. She thought about her friends and co-workers.  Vy wondered if the life she lived would ever be the same or if she would even go back to the mundane existence.   Vy wanted to be at work, having the hustle of deadlines, demanding bosses.

Vy got the courage up and walked over to the door.  She tried in vain to open it.  Peered out from the crack at the bottom she could see someone was there.  Fear crept up again and the thought of the dark knight being there.  If she yelled out would he kill her or worse.

Time was running out fast and there was a good distance to go. He grabbed his sword and ran out the door faster than he ever ran before.  Steven couldn’t waste time if Vy was in trouble he was going to help her.  He longed to help her ever since his dreams started.

Steven’s mind ran with thoughts as to who Darius was, why was he challenged, and was Vy really real.  The thoughts kept running like a movie on replay in his mind.  Steven ran thru the streets and finally came to the meeting place.

The dark knight awaited the arrival of the knight called Steven.  Darius sat upon his armored horse and waited.  Until the moment came and he was not pleased to see a mere man comes running into sight.

The man had no armor and no steed.  It was like a slap to the face of the dark knight’s honor.  He scoffed at the sight of this would be hero.  The man running into sight announced himself as Steven and was here to answer the challenge.

It was an insult to the very meaning of being a knight.  Darius was a dark knight and upheld his own honor above all else.  He cared little for the modern day drama and lived in the past.

Darius announced himself as well and raised his sword in a challenging matter.  Steven reacted as a knight of old raising his sword up to return the challenge.  The dark knight was evil, but he did at least have an honor code.

This code was probably the only thing that prevented the dark knight from killing Steven sooner.  It was as if fate led to this very battle.  Darius dismounted from his horse and sent it away.

Chapter 7

Knight of the Golden Dragon were sworn to protect the good and innocent of the world.  They were a secret order that fought against the dark knights without many knowing.  After World War 2 the dark knight’s had an upper hand and began to slaughter them one by one.

Believing all of the Knights of the Golden Dragon were gone most of the dark knights sunk back into the shadows from wince they came.  The bloodline of one knight stayed hidden until now.  Steven was the last of his brethren and he didn’t even know it.

Darius was one of many in the Dark Knight reign.  The others of his order have forgotten all the old ways and have moved on to more modern ways to deliver evil.  Darius kept to the shadows to await the arrival of the Knights of the Golden Dragon.

It was his duty to annihilate them all!  It was his duty and honor to destroy them.  Darius was the darkest of the knights.  He had little mercy for his prey and sought them out.  He reveled in their defeat.

Darius hated his fellow dark knights for they were weak in his eyes. They did not take the world for their own, but instead hide away or became as one with normal people.  They cloaked themselves behind suites and paperwork.

Darius cloaked himself in shadow to stalk his prey and used his sword to do the blood lusting work. He only emerged upon the realization a golden knight’s blood still ran warm within the flesh of a man.  The dreams of a single woman announced it.

Steven knew nothing of his own bloodline and what his fate laid before him.  Darius knew and was going to stop him at all cost.  The prophecy of light defeating dark would end in blood spill.

Meanwhile Vy awaits her fate in the dank dungeon room alone and scared.  The guards over her little cell feed her scraps of food and cups of water.  It was just enough to keep her alive, but not enough to satisfy the pains of hunger.

Not only did she have to deal with the hunger pains, but the rats stealing the food before Vy could get to it.  It was more than anyone should suffer.  The guards didn’t help much either.  They would watch and laugh as Vy fought off the rats with her shoe in hand.
