Japan Headquarters

“Sir, reports are coming in, they’ve managed to subdue the assassin” General Lee rose to his feet in surprise is brow raised “By what means?” “A simple grenade, it seems she surrendered.” Stroking in chin the general paced up and down the floor. “Surrender? That fits nothing we know about her”. He thought deeply but his train was derailed as the metallic slide doors parted to show two been dragging behind them the body of the now feeble assassin. Her sweat drenched hair slung over her face but her burning bright yellow eyes could be seen through their drawn curtain. She glared up at the general as an almost undetectable growl could be heard bubbling at the bottom of her throat.

Her wrists were behind her back in chains along with her ankles. She was being dragged on her knees and the amount of scars and slashes on her body put good cause that his men had no doubt beaten her severely. Her face was stained with try blood that now began cracking under the twisting of her face. “Leave us” He said dismissing the other two guards with the gesture of his hand. With that he made the necessary eye contact to alert the rest of the staff to leave as well. Once everybody had left General Lee sat in his chair staring at her intently. “So you come here to attempt to interrupt a peace conference between the United States and Japan, kill thirteen of my guards with seemingly no hassle and then when you had ample time to escape you chose to surrender. Why?”

His brow was raised as he needed an answer. Laura shook her head as she raised it flicking her neck so that the strands of damp hair fell behind her revealing the scar slit around her throat. After she was sure he had seen it she snapped her neck back down causing her locks once again to shroud her face. He let out a deep disturbed sigh as he leaned forward examining what was visible of the scar that slid across her neck. “Oh…that all?” he said and with the snapping of a figure a man entered the room. He was dressed in the most uncomfortable attire Laura could possibly conceive: A doctor’s uniform. “Doctor Myers, take our…prisoner to your labs, and see if something can be done about her voice.” The man nodded as he called for the two guards to return and so the group were slowly escorted out.

General Lee now sat in his chair switching through the various camera footage he could get of the meeting taking place this very moment, though in truth his mind was no longer on that matter. If he killed the young girl, questions no doubt from her team would be raised. He doubted from what he had read of her she would have told anybody that she was coming here but it would be too simple to trace her last known location to Japan. The last thing Lee needed was to get the United States Champions of Peace, heroes breathing down his back searching for their lost comrade, but he also didn’t need her escaping and blurting whatever information she might know. So he was between a rock and a hard place, should he kill her if so he would have to find someone to impersonate her and that would be virtually…

“Impossible?” a young voice said out of the corner of the room. His eyes shifted as he leaped to his feet pulling out of its holder a gun and aimed it, his finger dangling on the trigger. “Who’s there?” He said his hands shaking, as his right hand moved pressing the communications button to alert the guards. “Please, they can’t hear you.” A moment of silent passed as he slowly lowered his weapon. It was a young woman that spoke to him, most of her features though remained hidden due to her lurking in the corner. “Why have you come here?” “I’ve come to help you. At least help solve your problem.” He took in a deep breath as to retain his composure. Slowly he seated himself once more, taking a more formal and official stance on the matter.

With his one hand resting on his arm rest and the other his wooden desk he nodded for the girl to continue. “You need to impersonate someone. A Some who I have had over the years extensive time with. I’m offering to take the job…if you can assure me one benefit.” “Go on.” He said twirling his hand before having it rest upon his lap. “You torture the girl you hold captive, until she screams for death but don’t kill her. Break her but leave her alive till I return.” The General leaned forward his interest peeked “And why would you do this for us with hardly anything in return?” The young girl chuckled as she slowly stepped out of the darkness her features now fully revealed, and too his astonishment she was a duplicated of the Talon.

At least he thought until the glinting of her silver eyes could be seen flashing off the lighting. “Trust me. The demise of the one little girl will equal the salvation of your world if you play your cards right.” She paused walking a few paces toward him as she brushed aside her blue hair. “What do you mean?” The General said as curiosity overcame him once more.   “Trust me we’re talking about things beyond your comprehension, beyond your time and your world. I can assure you that no matter what I say you’ll never get it.” With that she raised her hand unleashing two silver in color claws that slid out without a single sound duplicate to Talons. “So what will you need to complete your impersonation?”

Chuckling slightly she shook her head her hair slapping against her blushed cheeks. “I need your men to torture me, I need a good story and…I’ll need to fabricate a reason for coming here.” “Why is that?” He questioned, causing the girl to only laugh further as she now stood several inches away from him. “Well unless you want her team to know what’s really going on here I’ll need to come up with something new.” General Lee paused propping his chin on his raised knuckles that were leaning on his thigh. “And what is…going on here?” A deep sigh escaped the crimson colored lips of the duplicate girl as her eyes stared straight into his own.

“General...” she said almost in a whispering tone as a devious smile curled up her lips. “Do we really have to go into that now? From what I see, your still in the birthing process of all of this. Sure you might have fooled the United States in helping fund your little project but I can assure you it’s a little early to be asking questions like that. For right now, until all the pieces are in place nothing really is going on here. But until you flip the switch on Project Resurrection I won’t even acknowledge its existence.” With those words spoken the girl turned on her heel walking toward the two sliding metallic doors. Her hands folded behind her as she strode calmly out leaving the General to his own thoughts once more.   He was playing with big fish now first Talon now this what appears clone? He knew more was going on here than he was being told but for right now he would accept the help the girl had offered it appeared she wanted it desperately enough. As for her price, well he would arrange for his little prisoner to be tortured. Of course once a few tests had been run, why waste perfectly good Japanese men, when you had a regenerative weapon in your possession? Yes, he knew exactly what to do.

The holding cell.

Talon sat like a damp dog in the corner of her Jail cell. Unknown to her but only a floor above her, the negotiations for funding for Project Resurrection were taking place and the United States were about to singe their death warrant, or so she would say. They didn’t know it but once they handed over the unlimited funding these three nations, Russia, China and Japan had become part of a scheme to in truth use the funds for weapons that these three rogue nations needed to attempted their overthrowing of the United States. Though they had managed to get the States to think that this was to take action against the superhuman rights, once again people were unnerved by the heroes and once again because of their fear and ignorance they were about to make a hideous mistake.

With her knees and elbows raw of flesh she sad scrunched up with herself for company. Her body was drenched in sweat as her body kept overly producing it. The assassins eyes had remained closed and her concentration centered on one thing:   Getting out. Surrender was what appeared a major setback on a minor agenda but it was the other way around, it was a minor setback on a major agenda. She had wanted to get captured knowing that it would bring her closer to her targets. She had studied this places blueprints and she knew only a floor above her the meeting was being held. Not the best structure but who was complaining?

Her wrists and ankles were chained to the wall tightly leaving Laura immobilized, or so they thought. Talon had control over most of her body functions, she could activate them or stem them depending what she wanted to do, and recently she had caused her body to over produce sweat making her wrists and ankles very slippery. Raising her right wrist she began bending it and twisting it as it started sliding through. After doing the same with her other chained counterparts she was ready for the next step. Shaking of her drenched hair she slowly began sliding something underneath her twin toe nails. It appeared to be some type of grey colored plaster.

Ensuring that there were no guards coming, she leaped to her feet and slowly approached the bars. After figuring something out I her mind she slid the substance at the top of one of the jail bar and then the remaining on the bottom before taking a step back. Soon that of a hissing sound could be heard but Laura swiftly placed her hands around two other bars as she could hear the whistling of a guard approaching. With that she retreated to the darkness as she let it cover her and cloak her location in the cell, since there was no lighting for the lay out was very primitive.

As the guard walked passed his eyes focused upon the broken chains as he noticed the captive was no longer contained. Just was he was reaching to alert the others Laura lunged forward grabbing the bar that she had previously laced and it instantly removed it. Grabbing it she held it tightly turning it so that it was not vertically held in her right hand. With swift precision and in a matter of seconds she slid it through the remaining bars and grabbed it on the other hand, in all this she had managed to procure the mean around the guard’s neck. Leaning backward will all her body weight she pulled the guards neck toward the bars and with sheer force she managed to break it. Taking in a deep breath she managed to pull the guards body through the gap she had created in removing one of the bars.

It was a chemical she had used to eat through the metal, highly dangerous but simple to conceal. With that Laura propped up the body in the corner sliding the wrists through the chain, and with the help of her twin claws she carved the body so that the silhouette resembled her own. And using the trick of the light she had a person’s figure that mirrored her own. Then sliding through the gap between the bars she propped the pole back in place and what she got was the perfect scene. At least this would buy her some time. She had dawned the guards attired it was slightly larger than her body figure but she was able to tweak it so that all ends met. As she continued walking nonchalantly she noticed a spiral of stairs that lead someone above her. She had before hand read the schematics of the place but in didn’t resemble much of its blue prints.

In a sprint she ran up the stairs but soon slowed pace as she peered around the wall into what seemed the surveillance room. Taking in a deep breath she slowly walked into the room her head bent. She didn’t want to be this she didn’t want to do this, but in the end killing was the only thing she was good at, and till then her conscience would have to be silenced. With that her claws slid through and what took place was a blood bath. She did it in a minuet flat, killed about a dozen men must have neem her new record. Standing her attired drenched in blood she stared at the scattered dead bodies a moment as remorse and regret filled her head. But just like that her mind snapped back onto the mission and her bi-polar self once again was visible.

With that she seated herself in one of the chair and began looking at the controls. It wasn’t long before she managed to tap into the camera currently monitoring the meeting going on. Her fingers leapt from one key board to another a she clicked dozens of times, pressing several buttons. Her eyes darted to every corner of the monolithic screen the stretched across the room as she swiveled the chair from the one end of the room to the next. It was then that a striking pain stabbed in her chest causing her body to lapse on the floor. Clutching her chest she shut her eyes a moment blocking it out as she inhaled deeply. No! She couldn’t let this happen, she needed to complete her mission…she had to…for him for all of them.

With that she staggered to her feet and swiftly recovered before pressing one final button on the computer and exiting the room. Her hair lay over her shoulders as her emerald eyes filled with determination. Her hands were clenched as boldly she strides down the hall toward the meetings room. Though obviously her little charade didn’t go unnoticed at this very moment she could hear hordes of men charging toward her and even now see their shadows dancing around the corner. With the lights above flashing red she took in a deep breath while he claws slowly slid out shimmering in the crimson glow that illuminated the hallways. Her figure stood motionless as the hordes of guards poured in from both sides.

Slowly she glanced behind her acknowledging there was no escape. “freeze prisoner!” One of the men in the front said aiming his gun at her head the little red head aimed for the occipital lobe.  A Devilish sneer slid across her crimson lips. Sliding her tongue around them she shook her head before allowing her midnight locks to hang over her face. A few moments of silence past before her neck snapped up as she spun her leg up in an axe kick bringing it down upon his gun and like something from a horror movie she sent her claws straight into his stomach tearing through his chest slicing through his head. Bullets fired and as they ricocheted off the walls the light instantly blew out. Screams and cries echoed down the halls as the splattering of blood could be heard against the walls. The Slicing of metal slicing against walls and floor could be heard as well.

Finally the cries subsided and the noise faded. Another group of men came in as the light restarted and blood and gore littered and stained the walls. Bodies of men lumped against the walls were scattered down the halls. The walls were stained with crimson hand prints smeared up and down along with a pool of blood drowning each and every body in death. And Talon? There was no singe of here, except the crimson trail of blood that continued down the hall.
