Out skirts of Metropolis
Overlord Zane marched several men in chains toward a large building, while paying close attention to the sky. He looked disapointed at first but suddenly his eyes lit up as a black and blue blur sped past knocking down guards. The kryptonian then went to unchain the prisoner but stopped after hearing an odd clank. He used his x-ray vision discovering these men were all heavily armed, this was an ambush but Zane had made the mistake of actually chaining the men together for the sake of believability so Superman simply yanked up the chain and hurled the whole lot away.
Suddenly dozens of armed soldiers emptied out of the building, as Zane gave the Kryptonian a hateful sneer. Before the attack could begin a shout rang out, "Halt!" The ground shook as Governor Stark landed. He walked toward Superman confidently holding a long spear over his shoulder and spoke," So you are the man who humiliated my brother?" He looked Superman over as if he were a dog show judge. " Maybe if your brother wasn't so weak it wouldn't have happened." Superman stated trying to anger his opponent. Stark simply laughed and nodded saying, " I see you fight unarmed, as will I." With that he stabbed his spear into the ground and beckoned the Kryptonian to come at him.
Superman flew at Stark and swung a fist that was swatted away as the governor brought his elbow down on the back of his neck sending him crashing into the ground. Stark then grabbed his cape and flung him into the side of a building sending it crashing down. Stark clapped his hands together and started to say something to Zane but before a word was said Superman crashed into the governor at high speed rapidly punching him in the face and chest and sending him crashing into the pile of rubble Superman had just burst out of. The soldiers looked on with awe for they had never seen any creature get up from one of Stark's strikes let alone actually hit him back.
Stark flew up laughing loudly as he wiped the blood from his mouth and stopped to wait for Superman to join him. They flew toward each other ready strike and when they connected the entire city shook from the shock wave. They both shook off the hit and went back each other throwing hundreds of punches and kicks too fast to be seen until Stark managed to kick Superman in the face sending him miles away from where the fight had started. Stark flew after him and found him laying in a crater, thinking he'd killed him he leaned in to check for a pulse as Superman suddenly punched him in the mouth.
Stark got back to his feet and the two stared hard at each other, the governor was exhilarated, it had been quite some time since he'd had a fight like this and Superman was enjoying this more than he'd ever admit. Superman sped at Stark feining a left hook then delivered an uppercut with his right fist sending Stark back into the air. Stark steadied himself and caught Superman with a kick to the chest causing him to spew blood from his mouth. Before the fight could continue Zane showed up with a massive group of soldiers. Zane lifted up a missile launcher and fired at Superman but missed hitting his brother in the chest. Superman used the opportunity to escape. Stark looked around after shaking off the missile to see where his opponent had gone but he was no where in sight.
Zane ran to his brother who met him with a hard slap to the face and angrily demanded, "How dare you interfere with my battle, you twit." Starked hopped on a transport and ordered them all back to Metropolis.
