Spider team vs the whole Serpent Society, led by Serpentor

A team of Spider-Folks battle the entire Serpent Society and a couple other serpent-themed guys, led by Serpentor from Cobra!

The Spider Team: Spider-Man (Peter), Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter, Miles Morales

The Serpent Team: Serpentor (Marvel GI Joe comics), Death Adder (original), Anaconda, Asp, Black Racer, Bushmaster (second), Coachwhip, Cobra (second), Copperhead, Sidewinder (original), Puff Adder, Fer-de-Lance, Rock Python, Slither, Cottonmouth (second), Black Mamba, Boomslang, Diamondback, Madame Hydra (no octopus head), Princess Python (original), Rattler, Eel (second), Viper (original), Constrictor.

Battle takes place in an abandoned crayon factory. The Spider Team walks in and is attacked by the serpent team, which has already taken up ambush positions. Serpentor gets half an hour to plan ambush tactics before the Spider Team arrives. Julia Carpenter's precog powers let the Spider Team know that they will be attacked once they walk in, but not exactly how.

Both teams have a basic knowledge of the other team's abilities, and work well as a team. Win by any means.

Round 1: The Spider Team is in character, the Serpent Team is bloodlusted.

Round 2: Both teams are bloodlusted.

Can the Spider Team win?

Here's a quick rundown on the Serpent Team's powers:

  • Serpentor--a clone with DNA/memories from many of history's greatest military leaders as well as Storm Shadow's. Armed with a laser pistol.
  • Death Adder--enhanced strength (1 ton)/speed/reflexes/durability, amphibious, bionic barbed tail, claws, poison (paralyze/fatal) on tail and claws
  • Anaconda--elongate arms for crushing grip (60 tons to break), amphibious, lift 2 tons, enhanced durability, minor healing factor
  • Asp--venom bolts (paralyze/kill)
  • Black Racer--speedster
  • Bushmaster--robot snake tail/body (can use to constrict or jump 30', move 40 mph), robot arms, long poisoned claws on arms
  • Coachwhip--chains on arms with 20,000 volt electric charge
  • Cobra (son of the original)--can make his whole body elastic so he can't easily be hurt and can constrict people; move 50 mph, coated with slippery substance, suction cups on hands and feet, enhanced smell, poison spit, can shoot various things from his wrists including poison darts, smoke, nerve gas, blinding liquid
  • Copperhead--chainmail armor, grappling hook and suction cups, wrist gun can shoot paralyzing electrical blast
  • Sidewinder--teleportation cloak, armed with a laser pistol
  • Puff Adder--can puff up and become very large and strong and durable, can spit corrosive gas
  • Fer-de-Lance--poisoned talons on arms and feet, enhanced strength and durability
  • Rock Python--superhumanly durable (hard as rock), has snake eggs that explode into ribbons of steel that can entrap
  • Slither--can elongate and wrap himself around people to crush them, enhanced strength and speed
  • Cottonmouth--mouth can open very wide, bionic crushing jaw
  • Black Mamba--create Darkforce cocoon that surrounds and suffocates people, and can create telepathic illusions that make the Darkforce seem like a loved one so they don't try to escape
  • Boomslang--snake-shaped boomerangs/sickles
  • Diamondback--throw diamonds with explosives (10 pounds of tnt), lethal poison, acid, tear gas, knock out gas, sharp, armor piercing, sleep poison, smoke; has kevlar-style suit
  • Madame Hydra--martial artist/marksman, teleportation ring, has throwing darts with poison and a laser rifle
  • Princess Python--has a trained 25' rock python snake and an electric prod
  • Rattler--bionic tail that can be used as a club (superhumanly strong), and can also create sonic shock (vertigo, disorientation within 25'--if closer than 10' it can KO or kill you), and also can create focused sonic blast that can deform soft metal and deflect projectiles; slight superhuman strength
  • Eel (the second--Edward Lavell)--slippery suit, shoot electricity, creates an electric shock if he's touched, can notice changes in the local electric field as a radar sense
  • Viper (Jordan Stryke)--poisoned darts, poisoned claws, martial artist
  • Constrictor--two 30' electrified vibranium cables come out of his robot arms

OK, here's some ideas.

Just in general, Spider-Man and his amazing friends would do reasonably well against most of these guys due to spider-sense (which most of the spiders have in one way or another) and agility and speed. Plus Miles can go into camouflage mode. So they have solid defense. They all dodge thrown weapons and streetlevel martial arts and energy blasts all the time. But, this is a lot of people shooting and throwing stuff at once, making it harder to dodge.

Some of the serpents are pretty fast, though--Death Adder is enhanced, Black Racer is a speedster, Bushmaster and Cobra can slither at very high speeds, Sidewinder can teleport. So they'll be closer to (or faster than) the spiders' speed than most opponents.

Also, some of the serpents are more durable than your average guy--Puff Adder, Anaconda, and Rock Python, and then also Cobra and Slither who are elastic sort of like Mr. Fantastic (but less so). So the spiders' punches may not be enough to take them out.

The serpents also have a LOT of venom, so the Spider-Team members might go down if they get tagged even just once or twice by one of these guys--Death Adder, Bushmaster, Cobra, Fer-de-Lance, Diamondback, Madame Hydra, Viper.

Overall, the spiders are outnumbered six to one, but Spidey has of course regularly beaten the Sinister Six with the same odds (although usually he only wins through some tactical or plot device). Some of the serpents are definitely fodder--Boomslang, Princess Python, the original Viper, probably Asp, Coachwhip, Copperhead, Cottonmouth, even Madame Hydra can all get one-shotted by any of the spiders if they get a chance to punch them.

But, some of the serpents are more or less on the level of physical challenge that some of Peter Parker's normal enemies are--Constrictor and Coachwhip together are kind of the same as fighting Doc Ock, for example, or Rattler is somewhat like Shocker, Eel is kind of like Electro, Death Adder is about the same level of physical enhancement as Kraven, Anaconda is kind of parallel to Rhino, Black Racer is like Speed Demon. So they'll take some time to put down.

The serpents' biggest weapons, however, are Rattler and Black Mamba. Plus Serpentor, who is a high-class tactician. Here's what he could plan, for instance: Rattler can hide out near the entrance, and send out a sonic vibration to make the spiders queasy and disoriented. It's an area attack and affects people within 25 feet, so he ought to be able to get them all. This would partially cancel out the effect of any spider-senses. Then Black Mamba can use her Darkforce/psychic attack on one of the others. This is a reasonably solid attack and the target may not be able to escape it. One of the other spiders may take her out fairly easily if they find her, but she would be at least a major distraction. Meanwhile Serpentor, Asp, Coachwhip, Cobra, Copperhead, Sidewinder, Rock Python, Boomslang, Diamondback, Madame Hydra, Eel, Viper, and Constrictor can all attack them from a distance while Rattler is still disorienting them--that's a lot of attacks to dodge without spider sense. Then Death Adder, Anaconda, Black Racer, Bushmaster, Cobra, Puff Adder, Fer de Lance, Slither, Cottonmouth can move in and attack from up close. This seems to put the Spidey team in a bad spot.

On the other hand, the spider team is pretty darn fast and agile, and could potentially leap out of the range of Rattler's attack before it has too much of an effect. Pete and Miles can use their webshooters to web up a lot of the bad guys (including the super-durable ones) fairly quickly. Some can cut their way out, but it would slow them down. Julia Carpenter can use her psychic webs ever more effectively. Jessica Drew can venom blast folks and use her pheromones, although probably in a large battle like this the pheromones won't be too effective. Miles can also take out pretty much anyone here if he gets them with his venom touch. Plus, to be honest, most of the spider team just has more plain fighting skills than most of the serpent society members.

So, will the spider team be able to overcome the serpents' greater numbers, tactical abilities, sonic and darkforce attacks, extensive poison use, and multiple examples of enhanced speed and durability by using their own fighting skills, spider sense/precog abilities, speed and agility, venom blast/touch, and webbing?
