What injustice?

Forever not making it in.

Many in this new generation of 'debaters' are sorely disappointing and specialize in copy-pasting respect threads rather than actual debating.

I would only use a scan occasionally and would actually refute the opponents' points with logic before I resorted to using feats and such. The threads and arguments these days are lacking serious originality and conciseness. I was acclimated to this in college, but it finally came in useful on these boards, and it was how the majority of debating pioneers would proceed in their arguments.

Edit: Whoops, accidentally quoted the Lvenger/Buckshot pyramid.

@illuminatus: Whilst I would say more than one scan can come in handy when trying to support or strengthen a point, I get where you're coming from. People do over-rely on scans nowadays to make their cases.

It is a problem when debates become mini respect threads.

I've only been on this site for like 2 or 3 years, I dunno if vet is the right word. You're welcome though.

Waaaagh. In a way I know this is directed at me, being that guy described to the T. However I am a firm believer in seeing proof than taking some shmucks word for it. I been in too many debates where someone tells me one thing, think its true, only to see later it was out of context or complete BS how they described it.

That is not how I debate, we all have styles and I own every comic my scans come from. I spent countless hours scanning my own crap as well.

Im tired of hearing people cry over one style over another. I never give my wins to CaV for people who never show proof of claims. But I do not bash on people styles either.

Except that's not the issue at hand, Cadence. The most critically fundamental step of arguing is using baseline logic and actual creative thinking skills in order to refute an opponent's arguments one by one, which was the entire point of my original post. It is entirely semantics which you arguing, and it really only speaks to my previous points. There is no actual comprehension anymore, no real debating or raising of legitimate questions. There is only the tactic of "Oh? Well, character can do X, Y, Z, and whole new alphabet! Boom goes the dynamite! Knocking down your arguments like the Kool-Aid Man." It is all ostensibly reasoned and accounted for, but in actuality it is always retooled respect threads that have been made to argue for that specific set of circumstances. There is no genuine insight into comic books or critical thinking anymore. It is only about broad assertions and a ostentatious attitude, often giving the illusion of prowess and intelligence, when it is anything but.

That is not how I debate, we all have styles and I own every comic my scans come from. I spent countless hours scanning my own crap as well.
