Sometimes I'll take a break from decoupage and dabble in other forms of comic crafts. Here are some jewelry pieces I've put together. Included are a pair of earrings featuring Superman/Martian Manhunter and a beaded, stretchy Mystique necklace. The others are chain necklaces featuring: Beast, She-Hulk, Hob Goblin, Vulcher, and Starhawk. All of these are currently for sale on my etsy site: www.etsy.com/shop/ComicArtandMore
Superhero Jewelry!
Here is something else new I've been dabbling in, jewelry-wise. I obtained some coverless/beat up comic books that were too foregone to use on my custom boxes, so I've been upcycling them into beads! They've turned out really well; I use a matte finish on them to still give them a vintage feel. They are great for any craft project. Here, I've used them to make a jewelry set: necklace, earrings, and a bracelet. A great idea for any fashionable geek! :o)
Another couple of fun necklaces I just did; Mr. Fantastic & The Thing, gearing up for the new movie!. :o)
@masterkungfu: LOL! For the figure necklaces/earrings, I try to find really small figurines (usually heroclix that are already somewhat damaged) and then I touch them up and turn them into jewelry! The Thing necklace actually sold at a craft fair I was in last weekend, but Mr. Fantastic is still available. :o) And as for the beads, I roll up very small, long strips of comic book pages (of books that are already in bad shape and about to be tossed) using decoupage, and they make awesome looking beads! :o)
@kittyparker13: Thank you for the compliment! I've not done a Kitty Pryde yet, but I could! :o)
@claymore1998: Thank you! :o)
