Public Domain Redesign Contest #14 - Atoma

For this contest I've chosen the character ATOMA.
 

"Atoma was a historian from the year 2446. While it may have looked like a peaceful utopia at first glance, a more careful examination revealed an authoritarian society where travel is restricted and the "Mighty Chief" and his soldiers ruthlessly crack down on dissent and abuse their power with impunity.

Dusty Rhodes, an ordinary 20th century kid, became a time traveler when a chemical experiment he conducted triggered an explosion that threw him 500 years into the future. Atoma knew of his arrival from reading his memoirs and was waiting for him. They teamed up to stop a robot riot, putting it to a halt with Dusty's slingshot. While Atoma has no super-powers, she does wear EDF (electronic directional flight) control nylon-xenton wings which allow her to fly."

Hey everybody, I'm new here- I was invited to join the forum by RamsIllustrations. I'm definitely going to give Atoma a try- it will be fun!

I think this is as far as I'm gonna get with this one ... but even though it isn't complete I really think the design came out really well ...

@Decept-O: Thank you for the compliment ... I feel like I'm constantly relearning the basics ... and you do great work. Keep working on the skills and everything else follows.

@UdontKnowMe: Wow, your design is magnificence!

@UdontKnowMe: Just curious because I have never used Photoshop and you said you use it, but why use it? You said you sketch out and ink the drawing yourself. What does using Photoshop do exactly for your drawings? Does it help generate designs or do you do that yourself? Like the honeycomb armor pattern I have seen in your pieces, how did you get that (cool) effect? Does it help with colors? That is an area I'd like to improve with but have been using the traditional markers, colored inks and colored pencils. Sorry about all the questions but am trying to improve using what little resources I can so any advice would be great. Thanks and again...really striking design and pose, and colors.

When I say this was a rush job it's an understatement. Wasn't planning on joining this contest but at the last moment I threw this together. Have a long day today and won't be back to finish before the deadline.

I never realised the deadline was today, i have an entry but cant scan it now. is it possible to extend it one more day, i can have it scanned tommorow morning?

Actually I wouldn't mind an extra day either. Not sure if I can finish even with the extra day, but I did have one started and would be willing to take a stab at finishing it if there were an extension. :)

Alrighty... here's my entry. Cyberpunk ATOMA!!

When young scientist Dusty Rhodes is accidently cryogenically frozen, he awakens in a post-apocalypic Cyberpunk future by the beautiful Atoma- a freedom fighter cyborg who is determined to overthrow the tyrannical MEGACORPS!

I forgot that one of her powers is her ability to fly... so, um, she left her rocket pack at home ;)

HB mechanical pencil and PS6.

Here is my entry. Hopefully it isn't too late. If so, I completely understand.

I wanted to go with a different style. I wanted a Half Emilia Eirhart, Half Rocketeer kinda vibe. Hopefully it shows. :)

Beautiful line work. I like the clean design.
