DC 2099 #23 - Firehawk

for this one I decided on a character who looks so cool and should get more face time in the DCU, Firehawk.

I actually dislike this entry just cause now seeing it i think it was a bad idea combining water colour and computer editing, but its all i got, so here we go :P

@Blizaga101: I wouldn't say it was a bad idea, it's just not producing the look you want yet. The water colors definitely look great and her costume design is looking sweet.

What I would try on the digital colors is implementing subtle glows and rather than coloring with flat colors (that's why they contrast the water colors) try gradients that consist of the light blues and pinks of the suit. I don't know what you use for your image editor but if it's photoshop and you need any tips on how to approach that send me a PM and I'll be happy to show you a few ways. :)

wasn't expecting to get this one done so fast but she just kind of burst out with a nice look. She's such a pretty character to work with :)

I agree with tonis... she is a nice subject to make.

A bit of explanation:

Other being able to wield fire, Firehawk can alter her body to weapons (she usually transform her fingers to be talon-like claws - so she can change it back normally and have her pick up her fork ;-P)

Didn't know anything about this character but gave it a go anyway.

@IcePrince_X: I like your design in general, it is sleek and awesome, but I can also just dig that there is a huge amount of pretty fire.

This deadline has been sneaking up on me like crazy. I'm struggling a bit with getting the colors and shading right, especially on the face. Hopefully I can get it polished! I'll upload something in any case.

Tomb Raider 2

Still not totally satisfired (hahaha) but the deadline looms so here you go.

I had a wider version but I cropped it down to get it to show up closest to its original resolution. Speaking of resolution, stuff seems to act a bit wonky between the native version and the smaller version that shows up in the thread, so I guess I need to experiment with these things some more.

EDIT: Not sure if the deadline was last midnight or this coming one, but I decided it looked better without the trees in the background, especially since I had trouble with the lighting on them.

If it's acceptable I'd like to amend my entry to this, otherwise no big deal! I've also been told it looks like she is doing a bellyflop. Perhaps one of her powers is to smack right into the ground and cause an enormous explosion.
