I am keeping with the villain theme on this one.

I have chosen to select the "Green Goblin" for Showdown #96.

Have fun with this one make him as creepy or different as you want.

@ProofPudding: This will sound like a complaint on my part but it is not. This is a great choice but any chance you can extend the deadline just a few more days if possible? Nov. 30th is not that far away, esp with Thanksgiving for those of us here in the States, "Black Friday" and peeps working overtime and the like. Just asking if it might be possible to consider it. If not, no problem because I understand working on a deadline is good practice yet the reasons I stated I hope you take into consideration. Thanks.

I can't draw, but a bit of photo-paint and we have N'Ormann; a green goblin, circa Hyborean age, probably readying to confront his archnemesis Peetar of Parker, the wise cracking rogue with slippers of spider-climb and daggers of poison :)

This is a photo-painted pic, I did not draw it except for the lovely purple hat! I gave N'Ormann his backstory but in terms of drawing, this image was found in google, drawn by someone else and minimally altered by myself. That is all.

Did you add a purple hat to someone else's work?

@Shatterstar: This picture is owned by someone else, totally not mine at all. I put a purple hat on him, the purple spot on his arm and changed the colour of some of the sparks. I can't draw, but I had an idea. So yes, I hatted someone elses pic that I found in google images, when you go looking for a goblin. I have altered the picture by at least 10% but overall this is just someone else's mean-looking goblin in a purple hat!

@batkevin74: As far as I know, this won't be eligible. You have to draw it yourself. or photo-manipulate it yourself.

@deadpool1109: Oh I really don't mind. I totally accept my ineligibilty to the contest, it was just the first thing to pop into my head and since I can't draw like you cool kids here it the artist section, I did the best I could do...I splashed purple on an existing pic

give it a shot. Everyone here is helpful and respectful of the other regardless of their drawing skills. You'll pick up some tips from some of the awesome artists on the vine.

This was done with coloured pastels and edited on my computer to add shading :)

@RamsIllustrations: Great entry as always. Also, might I just say that I am a big Muse fan and nearly always listen to them when I do art, it's something about their sound that brings out the best in me :) Panic Station and Supremacy are the best songs on the album IMO.

For me it's Supremacy and their bombastic transformers like music on Unsustainable. Just good head music, fresh! Love the creativity, gets me in the mood to draw... :P

@RamsIllustrations: That is beyond great but it is so perfect it is somewhat scary. The details of everything is fantastic, esp the background. Are you using a Wacom Tablet? The inks are off the hook in terms of being perfect and clean. Yowza I am jealous to the Nth degree.

Glad u liked it! I filter my lines through several layers. on the last version I clean them up by erasing. I start of with a scratchy thumbnail like most of us and avoid having to battle erasing with the following layers. I just choose my favorite lines I ink over. I like the results.

I have an Asus Tablet and a no name Wacom style Tablet monitor that works great. Until I start making money in this field I cannot justify spending 2-3 thousand on a Wacom. The regular Tablets that u draw on and look up at a monitor is just not a satisfying experience. Did it, hated it!

@RamsIllustrations: The Wacom Tablet costs that damn much? Sheesh. Yeah there is little justification to get one at that cost even if you're making money, that seems a bit ridiculous. I see a lot of comic Pros still using the traditional method of drawing on Strathmore and other paper so I am happy about that.

I can see the difference in the lines compared to traditional art drawn on paper for some reason. Not always but usually. Looks good. The Goblin hat and mask remind me of Humberto Ramos' style which is not a bad thing. The background looks like it took a lot of time.

The lap versions are just tablets. they go for under a hundred to several hundred. I dont like those and have a monitor tablet where i draw directly on what i see. What u see in my lines are my own custom brushes in Sketchbook pro. Very different from my paper and pen look.

Haven't had much time for art since Thanksgiving and ran out of time on finishing this piece for the contest, so I just added some grey to give a little differentiation. Not my final version since I plan to actually color this but it is my final contest entry. :D
