I really prefer how David Lopez draws Laura in All-New Wolverine. He gives her a much more unique character, while here her figure is generically "superheroine." She's pretty much got the EXACT same body and build as the other three females.

Anyone else thinks we're never gonna see these villains again ever?

Anyone sad about that?

Anyone else thinks that should happen to the O5 as well?

Anyone would be sad, if it happened?

Still no idea what Cyclops did? Blow up a world? Murder other heroes? Construct a negative zone prison so that heroes could be held captive for life?

Jaywalk?

People should stop hating on this. The first issue was really enjoyable. Stop being a bunch of negative nancy's and just enjoy the fact this is going to be a fun and innocent book. Nothing over the top or stupid, like BoTA, is going to happen. Hopeless is a consistent and safe writer. I have HOPE in a HOPELESS place.

Yeah, she's better drawn AND better written in her solo. There's not really any compelling reason for Laura fans to read this.

A fun and innocent book starting out with mob violence, young Scott beating someone with a baseball bat and old Cyclops wanted for committing a crime that even in the mu is infamous? Fun an innocent?

What I meant by that was - it's not going to take big story line risks. You can read this book and expect to be satisfied. You won't be having any "OH GODDAMIT BENDIS" moments.

I can see that, on the other hand the original five are still in the future, everything they know is pretty much gone and as they can see from their adult counterparts they will grow up into lives of absolute misery. Yea it's good that Bendis is gone, but his curse remains.

Very true. However, I view this new volume by Hopeless as somewhat of a grace for fans. Yeah, it doesn't make much sense for the O5 to be in the future and what not but at the same time the X-Men have gone through so much shit these especially these past few years and Marvel doesn't seem to want to change anything so they're giving us the new (old) team to follow without any of the continuity restrictions (despite them knowing what happens in the future). Does that make sense? Oh, and this was also Marvels way of reviving Jean without having to actually revive her, again without the continuity restraints.

Well it is good to read it that way, but I just can't. I mean really if you were any of the original and you saw what was going to come, the mutations, the betrayals... could you go on? What they learn about Prof X alone should be enough. That's something that marvel hasn't really explored, they are just ignoring it and going for stunts like Iceman's sexuality. Even if the quality is good on this series it's one flower in a field of weeds to me.

I hate doppelgangers. It just seems really lazy to reuse characters over and over again instead of exploring the 40+ years of solid continuity. I love Hopeless (his Spider-Woman is fantastic), but I hate the entire idea of the O5. If we all do not support this book, maybe they will go away.

In truth i was kinda hoping that the Secret Wars restart would end up sending the original four back, of course Jean would stay because lets be honest, that was the whole mission statement for ALL NEW X-men Vol 1. I do like the adventurous mission statement of this book, it seems clearer than Extraordinary X-men which, has interesting new embers of ideas, but is still stuck in a tried concept. My only gripes with this book is did it need to be the original four? We have ample new young x-men to pick from? And though i like Mark's art, it would've been great to see a new artistic take on these characters, like a fresh young artist. I guess they're calling it the "Batgirl" effect on art haha.

So they killed adult Cyke and now they are gearing the younger version to be just like him, angry and dangerous ! Great. Why are we keeping those O5 in the freaking FUTURE again ? They should've been sent back after the first arc but they wanted to bring back Jean Grey in some fashion. This was NOT the way to do it. They are trying to change characters that are iconic by pulling of these stunts that change these younger versions. Like the Iceman sexuality stunt...or giving Jean Grey new powers somehow that doesn't change the future >_>

So my guess is these O5 are not from the past but from an alternate reality ( which they debunked with having young Cyke get killed in one issue only to be revived and while that happened Adult Cyke disappeared ). That is my second concern. If I am one their adult selves... would I allow them to risk their lives ( and MY for that matter ) or act in such a way that would affect me , literally change me ? Sure they can try to justify that ' Oh but it is better for Young Hank to learn and not make the same mistakes ! ' and that brings me to the same point...if Hank changes , then the whole time-travel stuff won't happen anyways...which is a paradox..

I just can't man, it is just too contrived to write O5 as teenagers and make some 'modern' changes to them that puts me off big time. I mean young Angel and Laura dating ? What would the older version say ?... too many weird shit going on.

In that timeline atleast, in another it will be Ultron, a third it's Kang (who's just about wiped the Inhumans from history in UIH) and in a fourth it's Bishop or Rachel... by now I wonder how anyone inside the MCU can take the predictions of time-travelers all that seriously.
