Today, Marvel Studios held an event at the El Capitan theater in Los Angeles and a whole lot of movies were announced. One of the most exciting announcements is one that many fans have been hoping for: a Black Panther movie.

There's no word yet on who's directing, but they did confirm that actor Chadwick Boseman has been cast as T'Challa. Black Panther will make his cinematic debut in Captain America: Civil War (unless he's in a credits scene first!) and Kevin Feige claims the hero will play a big role in that film. The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer also has fans talking about Wakanda (it looks like Ultron goes there for some upgrades), so we could see some T'Challa Easter eggs in Joss Whedon's sequel.

Black Panther, the former king of Wakanda, is a brilliant tactician, a gifted fighter, and wears some of the most advanced gear on the planet. He's also a member of the Avengers and the Illuminati. Needless to say, the character can bring a lot of material to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you want to learn more about the character, check out his page right here on Comic Vine.
