It's the end of the week and you've probably already read this week's new comics. Now it's time to kick back and enjoy some really cool comic book art that won't appear in actual comic books. Artist love to draw. When they're not working on their actual assignments, they often draw sketches for fun and post them on their blogs and Tumblr accounts.
Last week many asked how come there wasn't any Phil Noto art featured. Well...I didn't see any new pieces from Mr. Noto. He is busy doing a great job on X-23. To make up for his absence, here is another in his series of retro-style images. This one takes place in 1973, and features Storm and Luke Cage.
Check out his Tumblr page to see others in this series (or past editions of Awesome Art Picks).
== TEASER ==Phil also posted an early X-23 character sketch this week. Let's hope she doesn't pop her feet claws and ruin her shoes.
What about Batman? We have a couple Batmans this week. The first is by Joel Gomez on his Tumblr.
The second Batman image is by Mike Hawthorne.
In case you weren't aware, the 'New 52' Wonder Woman #1 comes out next Wednesday. Cliff Chiang has been posting some sketches of the Amazonian Princess on his Tumblr.
He also posted this 'early promo image' for the book.
He doesn't just draw Wonder Woman. Check out his Daredevil and Emma Frost sketches from the Baltimore Comic-Con.
Mitch Breitweiser posted this "fun little Captain America sketch" he did on his page. Pretty sweet, huh?
Francis Manapul is busily working on his Flash book. He mentioned enjoying playing around with graphic design and took some flats from an upcoming issue and made a teaser out of them.
And our last image this week is a 3D render of Young Tony Stark.
That's it for this week. What did you think of these pics? Be sure to look for another edition next week.
