We all have trade paperback (TPB) collections we'd like to see. Here's one of mine:

Proposed Title:Zorro's Renegades.
Alternate Title:Zorro.
Collecting 14 Issues:
  • Zorro (1993) #0, 1-11
  • Dracula Versus Zorro (1993) #1-2
Covers: (click to enlarge)
TPB Cover: Zorro (1993) #1

I loved this series, because it gave Zorro so much more than Captain Monastario and Sgt. Garcia. He gained an honest to goodness rogues gallery that included Machete, Moonstalker, the breakout Lady Rawhide, and even Dracula himself. It was a shame that the combination of Topps ending and Lady Rawhide eclipsing Zorro in popularity ended this series. It was well written and beautifully rendered. I still miss this series, and unfortunately, it has only been collected in black and white (and one of those trades was named Zorro's Renegades). I would love a full color TPB of this.

For the cover, I'd be tempted to go with Zorro #0 or #8, but on #0, he's missing his cape, and on #8, his horse looks fat. The Zorro #2 cover is good, but the cape doesn't look like classic Zorro. So out of all of them I'd have to go with the cover to Zorro #1. It's an awesome use of lighting and silhouette, that features the three best features of Zorro: his costume, his horse, and his sword.

Would you buy it? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading.

@IrishX: Yeah, me too.  I couldn't buy any trades right now, but these "Would U Buy It" blogs are TPB's I'd like to see come out.  Not everyone is going to agree with me, I'm sure, but I just try to put some cool collections together. :)

You really got me considering even just finding the comics themselves.
Have you read the Dynamite series for him?

@IrishX: The comics themselves are not that hard to find (with the possible exception of #3 - the first appearance of Lady Rawhide) and can maybe even be found in the cheap bins.  I have seen them in quarter bins, which I think is a shame, but it is an older comic, and retailers are constantly trying to make room for the new stuff.  I have the issues, but I'd just really like to see a nice color version of this in TPB.
I read the first few issues of the Dynamite series, but dropped it due to money.  I thought it was well written, and was impressed that they made it somewhat interesting, in a more realistic setting than the Topps series.  Only "somewhat," because I loved the rogues the Topps series was introducing.  That's what made the Dynamite series more realistic though, because it seemed they were doing Zorro without any other costumed characters.  Who wants that though? lol  I used to hate it that the only guy Zorro ever fought was the Commondante, so I really loved the Topps series.
