    Zoom shares many characteristics of an anti-villain. In some sick way, he does want heroes to beat him. He wants better heroes, even if he himself becomes the greatest villain. He plays on the villain side and lack most of the morals of a hero. He wants a better world, even if he needs to endanger it.

    He thinks himself one, but he's far too psychotic and bloodthirsty to truly qualify. If his methods differed from "relentlessly torment a hero and randomly kill their friends and family in the hope that said tragedies will drive them to improve", it'd be different. As it stands now, however, he's the only one who thinks he qualifies.
