Zeus

Birth and Early Days

The fates had foretold the overthrowing of Cronos by his own children. To prevent this prophecy of the fates from coming true, the Lord of time had swallowed his children one by one, imprisoning each of them inside his belly. Standing on the Summit of Sacrifice, Rhea, grieved over the loss of her children,so she refused to sacrifice her last child and in turn saved the baby, Zeus, she had tricked the mighty Cronos into swallowing a stone wrapped in piece of cloth. She had called upon an eagle to take Zeus to an island far away, beyond the watchful eyes of Cronos. It was the Mother of Earth, Gaia, who raised and nurtured the baby Zeus and drove his desire to free his brothers and sisters from the belly of Cronos, also become the King of the Gods by overthrowing Cronos and fulfilling the prophecy that was made.

The First Great War

Before betraying the Mother of Earth and after freeing his brothers and sisters, Zeus was consumed with hatred and revenge. He betrayed Gaia, the very Titan who had raised him and he waged a full on war on all the Titans for the sins of only one...Cronos. The new rulers of the world, the Olympian Gods, fought against their predecessors with great rage and brute strength. The battle between these two forces, Olympians and the Titans, formed the land of the mortal world, shaking the earth with deafening and massive earthquakes,mountains crumbled down to the ground and oceans and seas creating many waves which tumbled on to the ground.During the war, Zeus created the all powerful and mighty Blade of Olympus, which he used to banish the Titans to the darkest and foulest pits of Tartarus, by using Zeus's gauntlet which he named after himself "The Gauntlet Of Zeus" he used it to create the chains that bind them this very day. Cronos would later be forced to endure great suffering and many years of pain by having Pandora's Temple which contained Pandora's box,which was created to seal away the evils that spawned from the war,chained to his back and wander the Desert of Lost Souls for Eternity.

Ares and Kratos

There came a day when Ares had begun a deadly siege on his sisters city of Athens to be in the favourite of Zeus rather than his half-sister Athena. Zeus had strictly forbidden the Olympian Gods from waging war between themselves, because of Ares actions he allowed his daughter Athena to receive help from a the Ghost of Sparta, Kratos, Ares’s former servant and the champion of the Gods who pledged himself to them for ten years. Kratos met the King of the Gods Zeus himself within the ruined city of Athens, where he was bestowed Zeus's fury, the ability to wield and throw Zeus’ thunderbolts.

When Ares seized Pandora's Box, he yelled cursing his father for the constant favour of Athena and asking if Zeus was able to finally see what his son the God of War was capable of. He declared that he would never hesitate to use the power of the box against Olympus itself, but at that moment Kratos intervened with a bolt of Zeus' Fury to reclaim the box, at last opening the ancient artifact and harnessing its power to destroy his former master, Ares. Zeus and the other Olympian gods guided Kratos in the defeat of Ares, as he was the one most likely rebel against his own father. With the death of Ares , the Zeus and the Olympians forgave Kratos for the crime of murdering his own family (although, to Kratos' disappointment, they were did not remove the horrendous memories from his Kratos's mind), and made him the new God of War.

It was later on revealed that Zeus and the other Olympians had fallen prey to the atrocious evils locked away in Pandora's Box after Kratos opened it to defeat Ares. As a result of this, Zeus had become overwhelmed by the fear of the cycle of son killing father would repeat itself e.g. Cronos killed Uranus, Zeus himself defeated Cronos, the king of the gods expected that Kratos (Angered by the fact that not even the gods could end his horrendous nightmares) would be the son who would kill him and take the throne of Olympus for himself.
