who likes her new clothes in JLD [justice league dark]? who perfers her to wear her magician outfit again? whos up for her blue ensemble?
personally i like her modern age outfit over her JLD threads. but then again my dealers dont carry the title and from what i seen on here her black leather clothes aint too shabby. but whats with the tattoo?
Hard to say. I love it but it doesn't have the character of the magician's outfit... DC already has enough little goth girls with magic, keep Zatanna unique.
She's supposed to be a performing magician doing a classic illusion stage show, her old outfit was her working clothes.
It was also an homage to her old man and represented the tradition and heritage that is her background.
The new outfit brings a single word to mind for me... "generic".
It's boring to me, we've seen this outfit on a million different chicks in a million different franchises in a million different mediums.
If you showed me that picture and I didn't know it was her... I wouldn't have the slightest interest in the character... it's banal, predictable and a style that has been done to death 10 years ago.

I prefer the new outfit, to be honest. Though I would like to see her in her classic magician's outfit from time to time. :) It mostly depends on the tone of the book, really.
New outfit, its more serious to take than her old magician outfit. Plus it looks more realistic. Everyone's costume in Justice League Dark is fantastic..minus the Shades'.
I actually like the feeling that she has multiple costumes... and I even think that I'd be okay if she showed up wearing the prelaunch costume, but just in instances of show-business. She is the kind of character that I think would do well with multiple styles and even slightly tweaked personalities.
I miss the hat, unless she put it on in the more current issues, then rescind it. And I only feel this way because I'm on a strong campaign right now to bring top hots back in style and feel the forces are against me. Apparently the important thing was she still has fishnets, at least according to the majority of news since the revamp began? I don't know.
i dont know it was a legacy the way she dress like that i love zatanna and i hate she got her series cancelled... i miss my zatanna in red fishnets.. and the fact that she is superweak on jld come one everytime she wanted to do something her magic wasn't strong enought that pissed me off :(
I'm a huge fan of her new duds. And Black Canary's new duds. Both outfits managed to maintain the "fishnet" look in different ways while still providing a more practical outfit, although I'd say that Zatanna's is more successful, Canary's green pseudo-netted outfit looks more "superhero-ish."
i don't like her bangs. she should have a new do. and as for her outfits? shed look pretty intimidating, but not generic in a pair of leather pants, while her top had a jacket and some type of magician aspect to it.
I like the new look with the white and black combination, though I do wish they would bring back the magician hat and at least let her wear her stage outfit while preforming.
I liked how her new outfit looks on this cover with her hat, makes it a little more unique...
I miss her old costume but I think the new outfit fits the tone of the book. It suits the occult image. Justice League Dark needs costumes that aren't flashy, but somewhat dark and sexy. It would look pretty weird if Zatanna was walking around in a top hat while she was taking on those corpse Enchantress things.
Though I would prefer the white corset set, rather than the black top. It makes her look like a biker, even though she rides a motorcycle in comic...well, I hope you get my point. The white corset would just be a nice little nod to her old costume.

Homework time, print out this pic, go to your local high street and ask people what they think it is she does. You'll get everything from singing to popping claws, but you won't find many who associate this with magic. Costume fail, go back to the drawing board folks.
I'm not saying the old one was great, but at least you could tell on the package what they were trying to sell you. This is lazy marketing. "We'll just make her generic dark and gritty, cuz dark and gritty sells itself ..."

I don't need any homework to know I don't like this new look as much as her old one. You are exactly right about it being a generic gritty look and a fail.
I think she should just wear both outfits, in rotation. One story she'll wear the new outfit, then later, she'll be more in the mood for her magician duds.
I definitely like the current look over the old one, because I can actually take her seriously with it, although I don't much care for the strapless top.
I do still like the older costume, however. But I feel like that she should only wear that when she's hosting a show.

That looks generic :/
Her old magician costume, atleast if you showed a picture to me, I'd recognize her. If you showed me new 52 zatanna I would think she's some fan rendition, in fact im not sure if id even recognize her.
