    Origin

Yuna is the daughter of the celebrated and revered High Summoner Braska, who was the most recent Summoner to temporarily pacify the devastating creature known as Sin. Though this required personal sacrifice, leaving Yuna an orphan. The act of temporary defeating Sin to bring the calm, a well understood and heroic sacrifice, that must be accomplished every few years, would also place high expectations and pressure on Yuna herself, to one day defeating Sin. After the death of her father Braska, Yuna would be taken to a small island and raised by its Yevon temple alongside other orphans who would become her friends and family. Of particular note the Black Mage Lulu, the Ronso warrior Kimahri and the Blitzball player Wakka.

Reaching maturity, Yuna would decide to embark on her Pilgrimage to defeat Sin and bring peace to Spira. The sudden and unexpected arrival of Tidus just before her pilgrimage, would gain her another Guardian in addition to Rikku her cousin and Auron, a legendary Guardian who also served alongside her father.
