Yu Kaito is was an brilliant student who was given special abilities as a result of the creation of a portal to demon world. When he and other classmates started developing psychic abilities he along with his friends Mitsunari Yanagisawa and Asato Kido travel to the legendary psychic Genkai to get guidance. Yu Kaito has the power to create a circular territory around him and in that territory any violent act is not permitted as Hiei found out when he attacked him with his katana which was shattered before it ever touched Kaito. Also in his territory he is able to dictate peoples words and if anyone say a word that he has chosen to be a taboo you will lose your soul even if he himself says the word.
