Young Justice Episode 24 (discussion)

Looks like we can add Stephen Root as a guest and Clancy Brown as yet another Gargoyles alumni contributing a voice (still waiting for Keith David, Sally Richardson, and Jon Frakes, but you know it'll happen sooner or later).

Miss M: "Who would have thought a Martian would be effected by an Earth-virus."
Robin: "Uh, H.G. Welles?"

truthfully, didn't care for this episode... nice to see Parasite though...

I thought this was a pretty great episode. Red Arrow's change of heart at the end felt a little bit forced, but other than that it was a pretty solid episode.

Superboy is sure burning through his shields, its almost like they're becoming an addiction to him, and they seem to have an affect on his personality. His aggression was even higher than normal. I'm interested to see how that pans out.

And Robin's H.G. Welles reference was awesome ;)

I'm predicting Keith David voices Darkseid..........if he shows up

This was a cool episode, I kind of figured people wouldn't care for it due to it being not related to the central arc so late in the season, I liked to see them encounter another villain that we haven't seen animated  in a while

It did have a bit of a slice-of-life feel to it, as opposed to some of the other episodes we've had recently.  I think this one is meant as a breather before the remaining two big-hitters are shown.

I saw that shapeshift between Ray and Haly and thought this was going to be a Clayface episode at first.  I initially failed to see the 'virus' for the plot element it really was.

It was a Grayson heavy ep so I loved it. ;)

It was a good episode, but not great. Its okay to take brakes from the main story every now and then, and also good to do stories that are more focused on an individuals background. Super Boy is definitely addicted...and guess what happens when he runs out? Right back to Luthor...

I also felt like Red Arrow's comment at the end was forced... didn't like it.

I did like seeing parasite and it was interesting to see/think about him having both martian and kryptonian powers! Though, it didn't help him much..

Can anyone help me out on the Martian fire thing? I am getting confused about real fire vs psionic fire (or whatever)... is it different for J'onn and Meghan?

Loved the episode, Explored Robin's past, him and Wally's relationship, the Shields, and Red Arrow finally trusting the team.

I loved the episode, very sentimental (I missed hearing Robin's laugh) and he and Wally was just: D'awwww Sweetie.

I think that shields are like drugs..... no matter what they do.....

Hehe like a drug addict... the difference is that you just go with Superman's greatest foe instead that fuzzy guy of the corner

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand finally Red Arrow learns what means Friendship

Confused why that interpol guy is voiced by the guy who voiced lex in STAS and JL/U. It made me really confused every time he spoke because I'm so conditioned to him being lex.

Also, did parasite always have the ability to steal the powers? I thought he just stole energy from people, not their powers.

@RedOwl_1: I did like the sentimental aspect of it.

@ArturoCalaKayVee: I've seen parasite have this ability before... not sure what he originally was like, but Im sure you can find it on his page.

This was a classic line.

I really enjoyed seeing Robin taking his leadership role more serious, he's really grown up since the beginning of the series when he didn't feel he was up to the task. So seeing him stepping into those shoes was great to see. Loved this episode! :D

Weren't his powers like that in Superman: TAS? He was able to steal Superman's powers and even his memories as he was able to figure out that Superman was Clark Kent.

It was okay.

Meh, one of the weaker episodes if you ask me, kinda felt like a filler.

#20 Posted by haydenclaireheroes (7962 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago - Show Bio

I thought this was one of the weaker centric episodes. I thought Superboy, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, and Artemis had better centric episodes

Character Centered Episodes:

Miss Martian's was awesome!

Kid Flash's was epic!

Artemis' was great.

Superboy's was good.

Aqualad's was cool.

Robin's was OK.

I don't see it as bad. It explored his childhood

While I prefer Tim as Robin, this episode made me like Dick a little more.

Series realized that most people were identifying this Robin as Tim more than Dick, skills and personality wise so had to reaffirm the viewers that this is Dick and not Tim under the name Dick.
