Anyone have any theories as to why vandal savage would get Mongul involved?? That's clearly going to mess up and did mess up the reaches plan. Any ideas as to how the series will end??

He explained in the first season that he wanted humanity to evolve and earth to take its place in the center of the universe, probably meaning he wants the earth to be the most powerful world in the universe.  He probably goaded Mongul into going to earth because he knew it would threaten the Reachs plans as they have a pretty tight grip in their invasion. The Light is obviously plotting against the Reach as they are likely plotting against them.
 
While I don't think the Light will be defeated in the end of the season I think the Reach will be defeated and people seem to think the forces of Apokolips will arrive.

It's best not to think about it.

The Light was awesome in season 1. It's just confusing this season.

The Light are using The Reach to activate metagenes all over the globe, and once this objective is complete, will betray them and move on with Savage's plan to "evolve humanity." Goading Mongul into the fray was a way to weaken The Reach's power.

Although i haven't played it,sounds a little like dcuo,just under different circumstances.What a great opening. (youtube)
