I haven't been in the forums in quite a while but I've been thinking about how the New 52 has changed alot of characters in both good and bad ways. Its also created a weird 5 year time frame. This is all fine and I'm not bashing it or anything but after finishing season 1 of Young Justice I think that a world more similar to the one we see in the series would have been a smarter choice than what we got in the new 52. Of course the cooler changes could stick like the Court of Owls or things of that nature that work pretty well. I may be alone in this but I like how Young Justice mixed up the timeline a bit with things like Superboy and Ms Martian arriving when the original teen titans should have been around. It makes sense when you think about it at least in exchange for the semi-reboot of the new 52. I'm much more excited about YJ than what happens in the new 52 as sad as that may be. I hope that little rant made sense. Opinions?
Young Justice
Team » Young Justice appears in 269 issues.
Young Justice started as another legacy team consisting of a generation of sidekicks younger than the original Teen Titans lineup. Like the Teen Titans, they would eventually increase membership beyond sidekicks and make a name for themselves beyond their mentors.
New 52 vs Young Justice Animated Series
@krspaceT: I understand that. I didn't necessarily mean exactly the same as in story but as in the way the world is setup. YJ doesn't seem as scrambled as the new 52 to me.
@krspaceT: I get that too. I have no problems with the New 52 other than the 5 year thing to be honest. I like most of what i've read. I just think the whole thing could have at least started earlier like Action Comics did and catch up to were the characters are now and since it was supposed to be a reboot newer characters could have gotten more interaction with older characters or characters from Milestone and Wildstorm that were sucked in.
Is it wrong that the YJ tie-in comic has become my favorite book of the month? It retains the feel of the vast community of superheroes that the old universe had. I miss that in the New U.
i dont see anything wrong with that. that's kinda what i'm trying to say with this thread. while the new u is cool i wish it had been an "ultimate" type line instead of a new main universe however i would have accepted earth-16/YJ because it feels more like the old universe but that's just me.
Well, YJ is settle in Earth-16, so what happens there is cool admiting it's another reality version/dimension. I personally wouldn't like to see the "mess" they made in YJ universe in DCnU. It just wouldn't work for me.
Plus, I'm having a great time with my favorite characters New 52 titles, so I see no reason to be against most changes that were made.
Maybe that's just me ( and I haven't been in the comic fan bussiness as long as many people here, so I'll use what I get to see towards the comics I read) but people are kind of change haters when it comes to comics. Don't matter how great the issues are, there'll always be a group of people who will stand there just to criticize them. Or, even when they don't complain, they're always missing the "good old days when Mr.Who used to write SuperX instead of Ms.Bla"
I'm happy about the DCnU in what concerns the characters I care about, because I know it's the only way comics will be able to survive a couple more decades. And it's also good that writers "take a breath", go over the character's history and write more carefully. Some characters were in such crazy stories that it was getting hard to write more about them without changing sth. Plus it gets very confusing to new readers, they need to find a solid space to be comfortable with reading the stories of characters they don't know so well. (and don't have to know in details, afterall)
Anyway, I wasted all these lines just to say I prefer DCnU than YJ's Universe, though I got used to the last one :)
I'm glad they're separate things....though I wish that DC and WB would get their crap together and make a spin-off series instead of stuff like Green Lantern and Beware the Batman
Young Justice is ten times more interesting than the new 52 in my opinion. However, the new 52 is till young, we will see in time
@krspaceT: Frasier ran for the same number of years a Cheers and it was a spin-off, and people liked it a lot better.
Kind of funny how Flashpoint, according to DC, affected the whole multiverse, but left Earth-16 completely untouched.
@danhimself: Eh, Green Lantern's fine the way it is. I like the show and it's okay for them to use CGI for just one show in my opinion. Doing again with Beware the Batman is unwelcome.

@danhimself: Spin offs never do as well as the original
I meant something like a Superman or Batman or other character series set in the Young Justice universe
Justice League was spun off of Batman and Superman's respective animated series. I like the points being made though. I still fall back on my idea that Young Justice/ Earth-16 was a better overall idea than the nDCU. I'm starting to prefer DC animation over their comics which may or may not be a bad thing.
@hulk_beyond: I like most of the New 52 titles out right now, but Young Justice is more captivating. And plus I hate the Teen Titans New 52! Where is Raven, Beast Boy,and Starfire??

They showed Beast Boy in the latest TT Annual. Except he's red, not green.
No word on Raven or Starfire yet.

Starfire is in Red Hood and the Outlaws. Beast Boy is a main cast member of the Ravagers. Raven has upcoming plans. She was initially planned to be used in Teen Titans (check out her cameo in Issue #1), then was mentioned as a potential cast member of Justice League Dark. She has been hinted at having a major role in an upcoming major event. No specifics though.
Young Justice seems more realistice and better coordinated. Its hard with comics with so many writers flinging Ideas around but In YJ there is politics in play and all the writers are on the same page with eachother in character cause and effects as well as powers.
Also Witch Boy is WICKED awsome in YJ. Hes like a kid Mephisto.... sweet.
