Well, how Bada$$ was he?
Young Justice
Team » Young Justice appears in 269 issues.
Young Justice started as another legacy team consisting of a generation of sidekicks younger than the original Teen Titans lineup. Like the Teen Titans, they would eventually increase membership beyond sidekicks and make a name for themselves beyond their mentors.
How Bada$$ was Mongul?
(I can't be the only one who came into this thread expecting something else... Damn Dollar signs...
lol.)
I still gotta see the episode. Hope he was done right though.
He tore through the team like they were rookies.....not a very big accomplishment though considering everyone does that.
I have to admit, not be stickler, but I like the JL cartoon version better.

Wish Blue Beetle wasn't the center of attention. He isn't that interesting. I hope that the big fight between the Beetles and Young Justice isn't how this series will end.

Scratch that, I just finished watching the full episode. Blue Beetle completely stole his thunder.
I feel like you could rename this season "Blue Beetle and his Superfriends".
I feel there was a bit of a worf effect going on there. I know Mongul is heavy, but Wonder Girl not being able to easily lift him when his unconscious body falls on her? I can count two instances of her performing feats like that which would make that look like child's play. Though that may be due to the reduced Oxygen content.
Edit- Has Superboy just become a marker for showing how strong a villain is? Despero, Mongul and Black Beetle have all beaten on him like a kitten.

Oh here you go
He went through the team fairly easy,I wasn't impressed and expected something a bit more hardcore. In the same token Iwas excited to see the character make an appearance.Shame this show is ending, they should do a JL spin-off. I like the artwork, and the JL members that were introduced on Young Justice.
when he did that back breaker on superboy i cringed lo. i NEVER expected to see something like that in this entire series

Indeed, as it would be fitting to say: Sh!t just went real.

TBH he wasn't at all to me. He was like every other Young Justice villain beats them with ease. They need to stop this Young Justice team getting beat down stuff that got tiring long ago. I actually want to see fights now. They keep putting people out of there league in the series when they should stick around Brother Blood, Deathstroke, and the Red Hood types of villains.
That connection with the Reach made the absence of the Green Lanterns pretty convenient. I liked how Mongul was portrayed in this. Many species feared him on Rimbor and you could see the way he was looking at Superman. That Blue Beetle twist makes me sad though. I just hope that at the end all of the hheroes are together without any of their team kidnapped, killed or betraying them :'( I will miss this show just like The Avengers :Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Green Lantern : The Animated Series.

Well we deserve to see more from this artist, in the form of a JL cartoon series.

That was probably the highlight of the fight! It made me cringe as well.
This episode was so awesome.
Why are they canceling this?!
Didn't expect the betrayal to go down like that. Wonder how the team will deal with Green Beetle now. First time meeting Mongul. Brutal!
Can't believe I'm saying this but in the case of Young Justice it almost seems like their abilities are too...weak I mean Wonder Girl and Superboy are the heavy hitters but they get taken down like nothing -_-
They should've been able to pose as just a bit of a threat.
However the whole thing is still pretty entertaining.
Wasn't a good portrayal, IMO.
First off, his dialogue sounded a little too Darkseid-ish. The whole 'me killing your world is merciful' dialogue just sounded way too Darkseid. JLU's portrayal of Mongul was better; where he was still egotistical but had more of a charismatic flair. YJ's Mongul is a little too straight-faced for the character.
Second, the design was a little odd-looking. Not the actual costume or face, but the proportions of his body. His shoulder blades and arms looked huge in comparison to his head and the lower half of his body.
And while he did have an appropriately good showing against the Team (this is the guy who nearly beat Supes after all), his defeat was a little too quick. I understand that they had to wrap up the episode but it still felt disappointingly easy.
Overall I guess I'm just a little unsure about YJ. Ever since the Despero episode, there seems to be a way too large influx of new characters and filler eps, and I don't know how they can tie everything up before the season ends.
Meh.
I know I'm bringing the thunder down on myself for saying this, but to me Mongul is Darkseid is Thanos. None of them are that terribly interesting.

I don't know about that. In the comics and the Justice League show, Mongul was actually beating Superman, and Superboy isn't nearly as strong as Superman.
I seem to be in the minority in that I liked his YJ portrayal much better than in JL or JLU. He wasn't quite as... egotistical as he should have been, but other than that, pretty much a perfect representation of the character.
He was a little out of character, still awesome though.
But Wonder Girl not being able to lift Monguls body when he fell on her? Lol... man, that was stupid, i hated those 1-3 seconds.

@laflux: Decently so. There's this one scene where he rips off Bane and does a back breaker on Superboy. I wish I had a gif version of that.

But Batman#17 is brilliant right?RIGHT.
I thought it was an excellent portrayal, also not sure why people feel his dialogue was Darkseidish the mercy line is classic Mongul.
