You fans of Young Justice TV series, remember episode 7? The episode when the team go help Kent Nelson and stop Klarion from get the power of The Helmet of Fate but if you remember well, Robin didn't go in this mission because he was with Batman.

This issue explains what was he doing meanwhile the rest of the team was on that mission and leave us too with a HUGE cliffhanger, so be sure you can get the next issue because this is going to be great

The cover of Young Justice #11 sez it all - Batman and Robin facing Ra's Al Ghul. Young Justice...not so much.

The Dynamic Duo are at Cape Canaveral, fighting Al Ghul's foot soldiers and Ubu. The Boy Wonder runs interference with the foot soldiers, while the Caped Crusader goes up against Ubu. The object is a rocket that is about to launch. Robin helps Batman overpower Ubu.

Then, with seconds left before the rocket launches, The Dark Knight faces Talia. With both Robin and Alfred watching, the Detective forces Talia's hand. She lets him make his way on to the nosecone and the diamond lens that Al Ghul intends to use to decimate the world's cities and return to society to simpler roots.

While Batman allows The Demon's Head to monologue, The Boy Wonder removes the lens. He casually tosses the lens aside - over the side of the scaffold from the rocket. Ra's goes after the lens, plunging to his doom. Talia stares up at The Dark Knight staring down at her as Robin looks on. She and Ubu spirit her father's body away.

The Dynamic Duo rejoin the rest of Young Justice, the Justice League and Justice Society at Kent and Inza Nelson's grave site. Mysteriously, Green Arrow puts Artemis under arrest.

Back at Infinity Island, The Demon's Head rises from the Lazarus Pit.

...And then something else rises from the pit. Something that will be seen more of next issue.

The Good

I'm a huge Batman fan, so this was a pretty cool issue. This was all-Batman Family. If Batgirl or Huntress had shown up this issue would have only gotten better.

This is what Teen Titans and Teen Titans, Go! could have been. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Teen Titans animated series. The best part was that it was on Saturday night and it backed up the Justice League series on Cartoon Network. But, if you watched closely, it was hard to have Robin without Batman, or his origin. None of the Titans mentors appeared in that series. The only "adult" on the show was Deathstroke.

This series is like a Reese's cup. The best of the the Teen Titans and Young Justice. This new Aqualad is pretty cool and this series makes Wally fun and Dick brooding like in the classic Wolfman Perez Titans series. Wally is a bit impulsive like Bart; Superboy is less of a goof like in Peter David's Young Justice or his old book.

It's nice to see mentors and supporting cast, like Batman and Alfred.

Another huge plus is the Christopher Jones art and Dan Davis inks. I'm a fan of Jones' work from Gotham Adventures, some issues of Justice League Adventures, The Batman Strikes! and Dr Blink, Super Hero Shrink.

The Bad

Yeah, if you were expecting to see Young Justice in this particular issue of Young Justice? Not so much. But considering the Bat-centricity of this issue, I'm good with it. I'm looking forward to future issues with the other mentors and their proteges - Barry Allen and Wally; Arthur and Aqualad, etc.

The Ugly

Holy cliffhanger, Batman! This is another one that is continued next issue! I am so used to these being done-in-one.

The Skinny

Young Justice is a unique book. It is not a uniquely good all-ages book. This issue was different. That might not work for everyone. It totally works for me.

I give this issue a 4 out of 5. No, it doesn't feature the whole team...but it is cool to see Batman and the extended supporting cast...It really is the simple things that make my day.
