Boxed In
Despite feeling conflicted over the intro to this series, I found this issue rather enjoyable. We still wait for a couple of the characters to become relevant, or even present for this issue, but perhaps that's for the best; too many eggs spoil the basket, as they say.
This book focuses on the boys as the struggle to deal with the villainous mother. There really isn't any beating around the bush; it's quickly established that she is the enemy for everyone involved so things can start moving along. Wiccan and Hulkling are quite enjoyable to read, and their reactions are largely real, reflecting their age nicely. There's also some really cool moments of playing with the panel layout and how it appears, turning out rather nicely. The art, as a whole, is quite good here.
There are a few moments that are confusing, primarily because of some weird dialog, which holds this back from being earnestly great. Yet, this is fun, it looks great, and it's generally well written, standing well above the first of this series.
