Yokai is a term encompassing a large range of "otherworldly" creatures such as shapeshifters, humanoid creatures equivalent to the ogres and goblins of European folklore, sentient artifacts, cursed humans, and certain types of ghosts. Besides their bizarre nature there is no unifying aspect encompassing all these entities.
