Plot Summary

After consummating their relationship, Beth and Yorrick are talking in the pupit of the church, when an arrow flies in through a window. The Amazons have arrived. Thankfully only three of them. They threaten to burn down the church but Beth talks them out of it. Then the leader of the little tribe threatens to kill Beth if she does not renounce God.

Yorrick shows up, putting on a show as if he were God, scaring away the Amazons. When it is all over, Beth decides to stay at the church, telling Yorrick to find "his" Beth in the Australian outback.

The book closes on Beth in Australia, where her and her friend are kidnapped by Aboriginies.

I have to say, I like the moments in this series that take time to show hoe the regular people are doing. Too many times it seems like we are introduced to some sort of extremist or another. I liked the Garage mechanic, from the last few issues, and Beth from this one. I guess though for dramatic tension, you have to throw in some danger. I notice to only occasionally does this book have out and out violence, usuallly the women of the series talk or argue with each other. If that fails, then they are unbelievably violent. I liked this little stand off in the church. It is a testament to Vaughn that he writes all characters like they did have some sort of brain in their heads. Even when they are misguided.
