Plot Summary

The book opens with a strange couple of pages where Yorrick is dressed up as Dorothy, Agent 355 the Scarecrow, and Dr. Mann the Tin Man. Quickly though it goes back to the scene where last issue left off. Yorrick wakes up from being drugged to find himself trussed up, and Agent 711 in dominatrix gear. She immediately calls him gay, only that is not the word she uses. Then questions why he hasn't had sex since he became the last man on earth. She forces out of him a gay experience he had when he was young. He makes rude jokes and rude comments at her expense, so she drugs him again, while asking about his first hetero sexual encounter. He dreams about Beth and suddenly wakes up tied to a bed. Agent 355 starts to ask him if he is attracted to her, he is angry and insulting. She feeds him a viagra, and they argue. After explaining to him that he has a responsibility to the world to have sex a lot, and that their sex would have nothing to do with his love for Beth, Yorrick submits and admits he wants sex with Agent 711.

    Safeword: Part One

I I like this issue because it shows Agent 355 can be passive aggressive as well. It bares strong resemblence to other issues. Some sort of stand off leading to a discussion about the politics or psycology of being the last man on this big ball of mud. Yet this time it seems like Agent 355 gets fed up and that is why she leaves him behind with her friend. Of course the friend soon shows us she has a few secrets to deal with. The art is good. I never thought it was anything of note, more adequate than great. It fits the book, and I guess at the end of the day that is all you need.
