It's very rare that a story works for me. I think it's because of the whole sudden revelation thing. I have had them and they are never so dramatic. It's more of a silent coming to grips that the way things are is the things are. I guess you can't be that subtle if you are entertaining though. Still it works, and I believe one reason why is that we never see what his revelation is. Although considering the gold light, we can guess. It's a cool continuation from the last chapter.
