The X-Terminators initially was a clever ruse used by the original X-Men to help rescue and protect young mutants. Finding it only made mutant matters worse they stopped. The same students they saved would later use the name as a team playing a pivital role during Inferno. Edit

Team History

The original X-Men (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman and Angel) became disassociated with the current team because Professor X had placed their old nemesis Magneto as its leader. Feeling that the new direction the X-Men were taking could not include them they would leave. Not too long after, the five set up a business advertising that they were mutant-hunters for hire. Headquartered in downtown New York City, posing as "normal" (non-superpowered) humans to their clients, their plan began without a hitch. They would truly take the name X-Factor as a nod to their original team but use the name X-Terminators publicly. They passed out fliers in their disguises informing the general public to call them in the event of mutant conflict. Once called they would "protect" the humans by battling the mutants and getting rid of them. The mutants X-Factor captured were secretly trained to control their powers and reintegrated into society. Through their "mutant-hunting" they recruited a group of young wards that they trained as they once were by Professor X.

After a short while though they team realized that their design was falling short of its intended goal. Although they were able to save many mutants using this method, in the long run it only increased tension between humans and mutants. Feeling that they best option was to simply stop, they would. They would have their students separated and send to different school that they would best learn from.

The Students

The students they would find and teach would include:

Russell "Rusty" Collins (Firefists):

A strong-headed boy with amazing pyrokinetic abilities at his command. He was usually defaulted to as the leader of the students.

Tabitha Smith (then known as Boom-Boom):

Very immature and a smart answer for everyone, Tabitha would appear to be the weaklink of the group. Appearances decieve as she weilds powerful energies that act as time bombs, that detonate on her command. Weak is not a word that could come near describing Tabitha.

Sally Blevins (Skids):

Sally has the ability to create and maintain frictionless force fields for herself or extendable to protect others. The fields provide superior if not total protection from all outside sources, energy or physical.

Julio Esteban Richtor (Rictor):

A tough exterior with a big heart. Rictor was a mutant with the ability to release seismic energy from his fingertips.__

Leech:

Found in the Morlock Tunnels right before the Mutant Massacre took place. The power negating Leech was eager to find a home and family, and he found one when he was rescued by X-Factor.

Arthur "Artie" Maddicks:

Only able to speak through mental images of his own creation, Artie would quickly become fast lifelong friends with his teammate Leech.

LATER

Takashi "Taki" Matsuya (Wiz-Kid):

Though he joins only after X-Factor separates their wards, the technopath known as Wiz-Kid would fit in perfectly and become a welcome addition.

All these mutant children were found and brought together under strenuous times. They each have all lived short but hard lives. Once togther they quickly became good friends and even family. They were fiercly loyal to one another and it would be because of this very fact that they would come back together after being separated and form a team. They would use the name the X-Terminators, as a nod to their old teachers and become a new group.

The new X-Terminators

Their time as a team was short lived and they would disband quickly after. But, even in their short time as a team they were effective. They saved the abducted Artie and Leech and were integral along with the New Mutants in thwarting the demonic forces of N'astirh released on earth during the invasion known as the Inferno. It would be after these events that the X-Terminators would finally be laid to rest and all would move on to other things.

Where Are They Now

Rusty along with Skids would be menatally manipulated and end up followers of first Stryfe and then Magneto. Rusty would meet his demise at the hands of the time-lost mutant known as Onslaught. Skids would servive and currently is a member of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Tabitha Smith no longer uses a codename, prefering her real name instead. She is apart of the Initiative and has signed the Superhero Registration Act. Prior to that she was a member of H.A.T.E.

Rictor was depowered along with Artie and Wiz-Kid during the events of M-Day. Rictor still actively participates in the heroing business with X-Factor Investigations. Artie and Wiz-Kid's locations have yet to be revealed. Their activities what they have been up to have not been shown.

Leech was last seen with a group of Morlocks again, but his actions and location a both currently unclear.

What is clear is that its not likely that reunion will be happening anytime soon for the X-Terminators.
