The only threat to their runaway success is a rival group of flashy new mutants threatening to steal their thunder.     What is strong about the X-Statix writing is that Peter Milligan does two things: Tells a great fun story and has a social comment between the lines.  With Mike Allred's art the series works so well.  In this trade The X-Statix team has to face a fan that is obsessive.  Obsession is a vice many of people have.  I'm currently obsessed with Peter Milligan's writing right now and that is an example of obsession that is common.
